I don't support the death penalty and it is not going to stop this kind of crime. What will stop it is a lot more complicated. How about fewer stupid teenage mothers? almost every horrible story I read like this one involves immature teenage parents and in this case, a man who had no business being near a child. The death penalty won't change that because idiots like this don't stop and think, gee, I could get the death penalty! If they did, 99 percent of the horrible crimes wouldn't happen.

You are right- we should just support these POS's and build more prisons because they dont think. You want to support (financially) child killers then good for you. We can rehabilitate these demons when we can bring these children back to life- thats right, its not going to happen. We need to do as China just did- a man with a knife goes into a school and attacks children- a month later he is executed. Will it stop others? No, but he wont parole and do it again! Instead of more prisons and supporting these pigs future, we can invest in our children's future.

Our "justice system" has failed because we as a society have failed. We need to change the laws- we owe our future, the children. These two pigs- not parents- should be put to death. "Parental rights" needs to be re-examined. Being a parent is not a right-it is a privilege. It horrifies me and fills me with rage to think of what Ethan endured. The punishment should fit the crime.Society should not be responsible for defending two ADMITTED child murderers. We cannot forget Ethan or Shelby- their memory must do more than live on. It must set the precedent.

God bless you Joe. Ethan knew love. I pray for you and your family. RIP Ethan- we will fight for you
I tried to sign your petition and was unable to "bypass" the pay link even though you say this is an option. So, unfortunately I am unable to sign this very important petition. I should not be required to pay a fee to sign a petition and will not no matter the cause, sorry.

If you provided your name and email, you are finished. It will ask for a donation afterward, but it is only optional. You can also look up the website by going to ipetitions.com and look up Ethan's Law. Once you are there you can scroll down and provide your info, then you are done. Hope that helps.

First and foremost-I want to give my condlences to the Stacy family and honor Ethan Jonathan David Stacy, who has touched the hearts of so many people across this nation. Rest in peace baby boy-you will never be forgotten.

With that in mind I would remind people that this is NOT the proper forum to debate the death penalty. I'm not a fan of it myself but the bottom line is it exists and is in place in the state of Utah. So the question is: is this crime deserving of the maximum punishment under the law? I think most would agree that the answer is YES. And in the state of Utah, the maximum punishment is death.

Ugh, sorry it just grates at me when people use the death of an innocent baby as a platform for their political veiws. There's a time and a place for everything-this isn't it!

You know, I raised four children practically by myself. Even though there were times when I felt like they were driving me nuts, I NEVER EVER thought even once about doing something to hurt them like that. These people are NOT parents, they are animals. An eye for an eye. They do need to be put to death, but not by an injection, they need to be tortured in the same manner that Ethan was tortured. This government lets these bastards get away with this, and that is why these poor innocent children die at their hands. We are failing them because our laws are not strict enough for these child abusers. Every person that abuses a child that results in death should be abused in the exact same manner until they too are dead. I may sound like a non-Christian, but that is not the case. I just cannot stand to see this injustice to all of these little angels.

May these 2 evil psychos fall down a bottomless pit burning all the way down or launched into a black whole in the sky.

A mom- I could not agree with you more! When I heard Ethan's story it made me think of nixzmary brown-a similar case that happened in my area a few years back. Another beautiful and innocent child brutally abused until her little body couldn't take any more and she died. It was also at the hands of her stepfather-and the "mother" sat back and did nothing to stop it.

They both got around 20 years from what I remember. That was actually considered a harsh sentance compared to what is normally given for this sort of crime-the average sentance seems to be around 10 years, give or take. They rarely get a murder charge-it's usually manslaughter or felony child abuse resulting in death.

So suffice it to say, I'm very pleased they are seeking the death penalty-no punishment could ever come close to the type of wrath they deserve (and will ultimately recieve, just not in this lifetime) but at least it sends a message that we do value our children and will hold those who hurt them fully accountable.

It's unfortunate but judges make poor decisions every day that lead to things like this happening. Just today the "honorable" Paul G. Maughan decided that it wasn't worth his time to keep a child from moving in with her grandfather who is a pedophile even though he was presented with the chance to review signifivant proof of the situation. Pieces of crap like this need to be held responsible for their poor decisions that directly affect the safety of minor children that have little or no chance to defend themselves. This worthless waste of skin has 6 kids and several grandkids. I only hope for the sake of them that they are never faced with the same situation involving a judge that can't be bothered to stand up the rights of those that can't defend themselves.

I am HORRIFIED by a picture of this precious baby from his mother's facebok. His face is swollen and he looks so sad.
Please, Please, kill these two, Please torture them beyond belief.

I am now haunted by this image, as a mother, I hope this woman begs for her life in HELL!!!!
