I pledge ... "to be a servant to our president"??? I honestly was reminded of early nazi germany where people shifted their allegence from "their country" to "their fuhrer". As a retired active duty Army officer my pledge was to "support and defend the constitution against all enemies, foriegn and domestic", and not simply "the president". Is anyone else a little uncomfortable with this?

Obama, STAY AWAY FROM MY CHILDREN!!!

For many of us who work during the day we have the right to entrust someone we trust with the task of sitting in a classroom, on our behalf. We could give that person the authority and permission to remove our children from the classroom if a teacher decides to participate in this indoctrination from Barack Hussein Obama. Heck this person could grab copies of the US Constitution take our kids out of the classroom and read our Constitution and the Bill of Rights! Maybe take the kids to a nice museum or state capital, make a nice field trip out of it.

But the bottom line is we need to make sure our children being properly instructed and not indoctrinated!

This all the more reason that we should push for a school voucher system.

I pledge to make sure the federal government does not put their hands in Health Care! I don't want it to turn into another social security, why doesn't obama fix things the government has already broken. Be responsible and do the right thing!

This was my thoughts exactly! Obama and his follows are trying to change to much. With Bush he had extreme gas prices and low gas prices and he got racked for it. Since Obama has been pres gas prices have doubled and I haven't heard one peep from the media. Be responsible and do the right thing!

Obama, STAY AWAY FROM MY CHILDREN!!!

On September 8, 2009 Barack Hussein Obama will be giving a speech that will be televised into schools nationwide. It has been confirmed with the Uintah school district in Utah that they have received the information and have forwarded that information to the principles of the schools. It will be up to the principals whether or not their school participates in this event. If they do, then the teachers will also be given a lesson plan that will go along with the speech.

My goal is to inform, not cause panic.

If you are concerned about what the Barack Obama's motives might be in speaking to our children,(when we are not there) call your school and find out if they will be participating. As parents we have the right to sit with our children during this event or virtually any day our children are in school. This event is not part of their required curriculum, we also have the right to keep them from attending school that day.

Bear in mind Barack Hussein Obama is in dire straits with his poll numbers dropping like a lead balloon now at 42% low. The Democratic Party aka the National Socialist Party is desperate and trying to find revised ways to get their message out.
Obviously they're trying to use our children!!

Why do you people give that Eagle Forum old Bat Gale Ruzicka any air time? By putting her on the air, you made this piece totally bias. You know she is not going to approve. You just want her to get a rise. Plus,(I might be wrong) but does Gale live in Utah County? And this incident is in Davis county? I think Gale should just mind her own dam business. Her concerns stop at the point of the mountain. Unless this bat wants to buy a house and pay taxes in this county and this school district, this busy body needs to go home and shut up.

Is it just me or does anyone else read the principal's comments (in her letter) to indicate that she had actually previewed the video?

She said, "I neglected to anticipate the potential that aspects of the video clip... might be inappropriate for your children."

Strike One for the principal and the PTA Board.

I like this video with the exception of the pledge to the President, the President is a servant of America, and we in kind should be a servant to this Earth. I like President Obama, and I believe in him, but to pledge to him is a bit to much.

Once again citizens in Utah over reacting to a great message of pledging time, resources, etc. to better the world. Our great little state continues to struggle with thinking outside the box. Instead why don't the parents of children at the school that saw this message explain what it means and the importance of it..or I guess they can continue to brush aside responsibilities of parenting.

I am a mother of a Kindergartner this year and I must say I am having a hard time seeing the problem with this video. I am a little sad my daughter's elementary school hasn't shown it. Is it wrong to give the children living in a country that is in such disarray and economic hardship a little light of hope? Is it wrong to give them something to think about? Letting them know they aren't alone and that even though they are small they are not irrelevant? I think this video is great and maybe if some of the ADULTS in the country watched it and listened to the words being said and disregarded their political views, we could all be a little better off.

For the school's purpose, it was a good video.. The school's theme this year is "service" and I thought, up until the last minute, described service beautifully and how many different ways service can be done. Elementary school kids may not understand so they see some of the actors that they see in movies doing service, maybe it will help them to understand and to want to do service as well.

Don't we kind of pledge to be a "servant" to the President by living in this country? He is our leader, and it is our responsibility to help him to change the country. I think the term "SERVANT" is being blown way out of proportion when it comes to this video...GET OVER IT ALREADY!

We feel that there was absolutely nothing wrong with this video. It was unifying and showed how we can better ourselfs and each other as a nation. Are we not taught to support and serve our neighbors? How does this not include the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA? He serves us as we serve him! How do you think you have the freedoms that you have today? And note every child that I have spoken to has had the same responce of "what video"
P.S. Mrs. Wade there is no need for an apoolgy.

I don't see anything wrong with showing that video. Anyone that sees that video and is offended by the school showing their kids that, I'm sorry but is way too close minded, and way to set in their "political ways". What ever happened to the days when parents would be parents and speak with their kids if there was something that they dont like about it just simply explain to your kids your views but don't go crying to the school about that.

Any parents who aren't instilling these portrayed human virtues of compassion to their children should be ashamed of themselves. They should also be greatful that the school is opening their childrens minds and hearts when they aren't.

This video starts out so heartwarming - sure, everyone should do their part to be of service to their fellowmen. What I don't like is how it oh so cleverly weaves in endorsing O'bama's health care, and ending up pledging allegiance to him. Sounds like Hitler's youth. Those kids didn't understand what they were supporting, either. O'bama's propaganda is beginning to sound more and more like Hitler's.

Did any one say that they pledge to defend the constitution? How about a pledge to defend the United States of America? This was a gooey feel good advertisement to promote a liberal agenda. I am not a servant to any one. Especially Obama. These people have it backwards. He is our servant. We elected him. He works for the people. He should be serving us.

Wow! I can not belive how much he, our President, is getting away with. I cried the day he was elected our President. I went and bought my gun. I do think that the values mentioned in the video are great. Hope is always something that we can give to our children. But what does any of that have to do with serving our president?
This video clip is so scary to watch. Don't we fight to have our rights and freedoms so we do not serve a ruler?? Answer to any one person? Are we going to become a nation crying "HAIL LORD, KING, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!!" Are we going to fall into the trap? It's starting. Wait and see.

It is interesting how they put honorable things to pledge to and intertwine political propaganda with it. Pretty slick.
