It sounds like the reporter tried to package the story as a fight between the big guy (Wegmans) versus the little guy (Bombace and other liquor stores). Where is the empirical evidence? The only numbers are appear rough estimates by either side. What about the other major wine producing states? Is it true that they sell wine in grocery stores? What about these three wineries in favor of it? Have liquor stores boycotted their wines? I have not heard of any wineries coming out to actively campaign against this. Maybe they are being intimidated by the liquor lobby.
