How many people are going to drive that distance in the bad weather? Be realistic folks...you buy tickets and the weather is horrendous...you lose out...if RBTL is smart, they will focus on a more central and logical location. Farmington is just that ...farm.....it might be building up but let's face it unless you live out there or Victor or Pittsford, you are not going to get there.

I don't think I ever said to put it in the inner city. I know that such towns as Brighton and Irondequoit are interested. Use your head...the thing above your red neck.

People still come in droves to the RPO at the Eastman, the Auditorium, Blue Cross Arena and Geva....wake up people. Crime happens wherever people are.......if you bring a ton of people to Farmington, crime will follow there too. We are talking logical location...distance wise..keeping the place easily accessible to the most audience possible.

I dont see that happpening,Do you see crime at Finger Lakes race track or gaming center. And this area is only 20 miles from Rochester which is an easy drive down 490 or the thruway. My Mother grew up on farm there and her Uncle owned where Finger Lakes and the State Troopers are today.

It is only 20 miles but in the winter that distance can prevent people from driving that far. ANd when you memtion the race track and gaming center...it draws a certain type of crowd...gamblers will drive to Buffalo or Canada under any conditions for their vice....and of course the race track is seasonal. We are talking about a whole different audience...alot of these folks are older and would not venture out that far and in bad weather....alot of them don't like to drive in the dark as it is. You are also talking about more cultured people who like to go out to dinner and then to the theatre....it's about convenience...this location is not convenient to a vast majority.

I'd never drive to Farmington or Ontario county for an RBTL show. If I'm going to see a show, I want to come into the Rochester area and make some stops, dinner and see family. My vote is keep it at the Aud or on the north or east side of the city. My other option is to bring my busines to Syracuse.

So you want to get shot in Rochester,Why not put in Canal Ponds park in Greece where it is safe and has good public access.Plus we have the best Police force in the County protecting us ALL,GOD Bless us.

It's not Mogadishu in Rochester. Let's get real. I've been away for eight years, but I was born and raise here and have neither been stabbed, shot, robbed, ect. Shot at yes. There are idiots and will always be idiots, but come on people the criminals arent going around killing everything they see. It's specific targets. When was the last time that you were stabbed or shot in Rottenchester Keith?

I love this.....5% of police, teachers, firemen, priests, daycare workers, health care workers etc etc etc are "bad" or tarnish the reputations of a general group. It is what it is....to continually focus or dwell on it is only counter-productive. The issue here is logically relocating the RBLT.....there are options in the big bad city that don't bring more harm than other locations that have been tossed out. No one is immune to crime....we are not talking about putting this theatre on Genesse St or Driving Park....some are overreacting here. Again, we have Geva, Blue Cross Arena, the Auditorium, the Eastman,......how many shootings have occurred when someone was leaving a show at one of these facilities. Come on folks....stop blowing things out of proportion. You forget about Frontier Field....no one stops going to baseball games and do so safely....people go to Strong Museum downtown, skate at nite at Manhattan Square Pk,.....let's acknowledge that so much of our cultured entertainment and shows happen to be in the city. MOre than 95% or higher of the shootings and horrible crimes happen not in these areas...basically they are drug related or gang issues...they are shooting each other in those neighborhoods. But don't live in denial, crime is everywhere people...you have to be cautious and aware of your surroundings and be smart.....no matter where you are.

The people come by the hundreds to Canandaigua to the Performing Arts Center at the College. What is the difference in driving to Farmington in the winter verses driving from Farmington to Rochester. We are better drivers out here?? and the weather is not as bad for us. People would come here from Syracuse to see shows as well as the Southern Tier. I doubt those people would drive to
Rochester. I for one am not comfortable even going to the Auditorum after dark. Medley Center was a real success as a Mall!!! What makes them think it would make it in place of the Aud?? To much crime in that area.

You can rest assured that you and your family aren't targets. If you do not sell/use drugs, then you aren't the target. If you do not hang/affiliate yourselves with any gangs, then you are not a target. Basically these crimes are mostly target specific. Not taking up for the rotten place at all b/c I'm outta here in Jan. But there is not a need to stay home after dark.

I don't claim to have all the answers, just an opinion. I feel safe going to the Aud and the Eastman. Have never had any problems downtown other than trying to find parking on certain occasions.

Yes I've attended many shows at the Aud, and several this past June for the Jazz Fest at the EAstman. Never have had any problems except with parking on some occasions.

I don't think the only options are "worst neighborhood in Rochester" or "farmer's field 30-40 minutes outside of the population center"

There might be better locations out there. Just settle down.

And like you're going to plays and art anyway. Until they make "#3: The Musical", I'm guessing your red-neck a-s-s is going to be plastered to your red neck couch.
