Too bad Pittsford in New York. You can put $1000 in a toilet bowl, and it's still a toilet.

Have great and fond memories of The Pittsford Inn and dancing to Wilmer and The Dukes back in the old days. The town was not a toilet then nor is it now. Congrats to a great small town. From one who still loves ya.

I work in Pittsford, and it's a great town if you like snotty-self absorbed bettre-than-you people who can't drive worth a shit because they think they're the center of the universe telling you what color you can paint your house, and whether you can keep a boat or camper in your driveway.

For those who are not familiar with Pittsford...Ever see the town in the movie Edward Siccorhands?? Yea, it's JUST like THAT town.

I have to say after moving from the westside to the eastside (not Pittsford) I can definitely see a difference in communities for the better. It makes me wish I had done this years before. Pittsford is definitely snobsville and I have to agree with Mr. Skeptical. I too used to work in Pittsford and have to agree with the "can't drive worth a pinch of ****" and their "attitudes" but the other eastside town(s) are wonderful from what I've experienced so far.

I have lived in Pittsford for 43 years, just an everyday working guy that moved from Perinton when he got married. Do not always agree with the Town Fathers, the school board and the high taxes. Looking back, my kids were given excellent educational opportunities, a variety of opportunities for recreation and a relatively safe environment. I have been grateful that there are no abandoned cars, RV's, boats and privies in my neighbors front yards. The people I know from town are all very hardworking and friendly. They are also involved with their Town Government and School Board. I guess that it boils down to two groups those that live in Pittsford and those that want to live in Pittsford

The people are all nosey and think they're better than everyone else. As for the Boats and RV's You're missing the point...THIS IS AMERICA, YA KNOW, USED TO BE A FREE COUNTRY! Who are you to tell your neighbors what they can have in THEIR yards??? If it's THEIR property, is it fair to tell them what they're allowed to have....just because YOU don't like it??? Oh, sorry, you can't have a boat....I don't want to look at it.

So much for living in a free country.

No you miss the point. I do not tell anyone what they can have in their yard. The community does. Yes this is a democracy and a free country to this day. The only difference is that people like you that have no consideration for you neighbors and are basically self centered, do not want to abide by the rules of the community. I live in Pittsford and worked several jobs at one time to get there EVEN THOUGH COLLEGE EDUCATED. I was brought up in East Rochester (a blue collar community), work on the Westside and I am way past retirement age! I encounter people of you ilk on both sides of town. Conversely I encounter more down to earth, happy, cooperative, friendly and generally nice people on both sides of the river, in larger numbers. If you want a boat, RV, old car or privy in your front yard then move out of the community. NO ONE REALLY CARES AND NO ONE WILL MISS YOU! IF YOU FEEL THAT THIS IS NO LONGER A DEMOCRACY, THEN LIKEWISE YOU HAVE THE FREEDOM TO MOVE TO ONE THAT SUITES YOU BETTER.

p.s. I do not belong to a country club but I do drive a BMW that was paid in cash!!!

You are a nosey, self-righteous SNOB. I despise people like you. The Community??? You mean people who don't do EVERYTHING the way you see it. People who don't fit your mold. People who don't conform?

See, I believe in individual rights. NOT COMMUNITY rights. What I do with and on my property is NONE of your business! enjoy your trivial life in Pittsford with your 2.2 kids and your white picket fence LOOSER. People like you disgust me. BTW: I live in a $500,000 house on beautiful Conesus Lake......Bought a 'handy man special' for $100,000 and did all the work myself. Me and my neighbors get along terrifically. We don't always agree on everything, but I'm not going to tell them what they can have in their yard, and what color to paint their house either. SNOBS LIKE YOU DISGUST ME! We are friendly, helpful, courteous, polite, help each other out all the time, BUT WE MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS OUT OF RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER. I don't care what color he paints his house. It's HIS house, he can paint it whatever color he wants. If I don't like the color, or the RV on his property, why should I care. It's on HIS property, NOT MINE. This is Called FREEDOM YOU NUT JOB.

Oh, and your college educated? Don't you mean a brainwashed snob?? You think you're better than me becuase you went for your liberal brainwashing?? Some of the stupidest people I've ever met have PHD's. Sure, they have a PHD in phsycology, but couldn't put together a coffee table they bought at Wal-Mart. Like the people who run Enron, or AIG, or Freddie Mac.

You want to tell people what they can have on THEIR property, and I'M the one who's self-centered???

You do have a serious psychological problem. You know nothing about me yet you have jumped to the conclusion that I am different from you. You are a clear demonstration of what is wrong with this world. You have a community where you live and whether or not you realize it there are rules in your community. There are rules within the community called your family. You have clearly demonstrated all those characteristics that you say the snobs of Pittsford possess. Congratulations!!!

Well, I would disagree with ANY rule that let's the 'community' tell me what color paint is approved for MY house. Rules....Rules....rules....I follow the rules. But I'd NEVER live in a place like Pittsford! They think they know what's best for everyone, and have more rules than anywhere. There's a difference between rules that affect the decency and safety of a community, and a rule that's just for whiners that want everyone to conform to their personal taste. I BELIEVE IN PERSONAL FREEDOM. So, I don't like the color of your house. WHOPPDY DO! That's where we differ. I hope they pass a law that says you can't have a BMW in your driveway one day, becuase the 'community' thinks you should drive a Saab. Then, you'll understand what I'm talking about.

You have more than adequately demonstrated your ignorance. You should also be congratulated !!
