Don't you love Alyssa Landry and DT? As always a mouth piece for Byron Manning, who no longer works for the district. Did she even bother to check with anybody from the district or the unions any information for this "reporting"? Doesn't look like it, but that should not surprise anyone. Objective reporting was never her forte`. By the way, it was Byron Manning who pushed for this particular form of compensation instead of salary increase the union wanted after two years of salary rollbacks(Byron's special). And then he turned around and complained to the state. It will take years to repair the damage this man have done to CCSD in every area he touched, and DT with this "quality" reporting is not helping.

I agree with Employee 100%. Manning has such control on the so called "reporting" of Landry that it is now laughable and this last article supports this. Why did you not have this heading state "according to Byron" as that would at least be accurate and truthful? Here is a sad little man, full of hate, who destroyed the CCSD district manipulating not only the budget but every aspect of the distict including personnel actions of employees he was not responsible for and is now out there begging for more attention. Four weak Superintendents let him run the district and now his reign of terror is up. He was and still is, mean spirited and divisive and is now acting out like a spoiled little boy throwing a tantrum because he got his candy taken away from him. Despite getting a massive unwarranted buyout, he is acting like a sore loser by attacking the administration through Landry because he "lost" and is no longer in the district running and ruining things, just attempting to from the outside. He and his corrupt board brother contacted everyone from Martinez to the dog catcher to help them fight this administration and 4 board members. He always fought the employees getting any increases and even personally financially demoted several good employees while he enjoyed a nice hefty $107,000. plus a 30% benefit package. So Byron, go away, you lost. Go destroy another company, district or college because that is what you do. With your negative reputation, you will have a tough time getting any job but at your Dad's greenhouse. Landry, learn to report rather than take your information from a crook in the future, your reputation is at risk.

It has been a year since Byron Manning decided to complain to the state attorney general about employees receiving a stipend for training in the newly-developed guiding principles. He did his best to maintain a salary freeze for teachers and support personnel, though several administrators received salary increases in the thousands. Not all, mind you--just those who were going along to get along by supporting Byron and Randy as they controlled the funding flow.
Sorry to say that no superintendent since then, including Epperson, was willing to rein in the Mannings--mostly turning a blind eye to the "business" that went on at the Kirtland Business Office. It's fair to say, perhaps, that it is difficult for a superintendent to know what is really going on when his or her office is in Shiprock and personnel and finance are located in another building 30 miles away. It was under the Manning watch that leases with the Navajo Nation were allowed to expire. Doesn't affect the Kirtland schools, of course, only those in Shiprock and Newcomb.
It was through the Manning recommendation that Nataani Nez elementary school was closed despite that the state was willing to fund needed renovations there. The closing of that Shiprock school and Byron's elimination of 50 teaching positions in two years has now caused several schools in Shiprock to exceed class size and student load limits set by the PED and state law. Gee, what a surprise.
One last question: So is the state attorney general so far behind in his work that a year later, he has yet to resolve Byron's complaint? Noteworthy, given that the attorney general recently dismissed all three of Randy Manning's allegations that the CCSD board had violated the open meeting act. And we didn't have to wait a year to get it.

The greed of the Kirtland Mormans lost control of CCSD. If they weren't so ignorant they could have seen the Navajos coming. Their ignorance is so deep they can't even see that their resolve lies with the policies and procedures of the Navajo Nation.

Get your children as far away from the CCSD as you can if you value their education and their future. It is now a failed school district and will not be rebuilt for many, many years. Don't let your child become a pawn in this stupid game.

With the school grades out wouldn't it be counterproductive to transfer your children out of CCSD? After all it was the best ranked district in the area according to the states letter rating system.

Then again most of the core "children first" people are idots.

Test scores jumped big time in CCSD. Looks like the Manning Children First Racist Morons actually did CCSD schools a big favor by pulling their children out of CCSD schools! Wow! the schools in CCSD are 90% Navajo and among the best in the state.

It looks like the Manning Children First Racist Morons pulled their children out of CCSD and sent them to Aztec, Farmington, and Bloomfield and really brought their schools down. Wow. Sharon Jensen alone is principal of the Bloomfield School that got an "F". I feel really bad for the children and people of Aztec, Farmington and Bloomfield.

The test scores did not "jump". The report card style grades are from the state, and it's the first time they've ever been assigned on an individual school basis.

Tso was elected in February of 2011. You can bet that any success that CCSD is experiencing is simply what little momentum is left from previous administrations. The impacts of the current train wreck of an administration will only begin to be felt in the future.

Get your kids out if you care about them and their future.

Don't hold your breath bubba....why would the 'scores results' be any different than those of the BIA funded schools already in place and functioning on the reservation? That's the goal. Let's mirror the schools already in place and functioning on the reservation. Now, back to reality..there's a reason the CCSD schools had a high reservation population. They wanted what they weren't getting. An education for their children that would prepare them for COLLEGE! English as a second language is not going to prepare them for their SAT's or ACT's. What prepares them for higher education is preparation for reality. The REAL WORLD! Not the Navajo Language...where's that going to come in handy for any American 'dream job'? What? The students that excel are those that follow the state curriculum verbatum. Take a step back and wake up to the reality of the 'world' your student is facing. What's it going to take to prepare them for the 'real' world? The big world, outside the four corners? How do we prepare them for life? Cocoon them, keep them in the protective world that no longer exists. Or...prepare them for the 'real' world..a world where they can provide for themselves and their 'potential' families. WAKE UP! And don't tell me that 'Navajo Preference' in hiring is just. Let's not EVEN go there.

Lets start this off simple I would like to say Hi to Scott Nicolay better known through these blogs as "Subutai" Next I will point out NO one in the current administration should get credit for the new scores out by the state. These score were taken from stats from the previous 3 years. Meaning nothing after May 2010. So the article above that pretend to know are wrong. Next the three A schools Two of which are in Kirtland. Great job to those teachers. Once again to the teachers and students of those schools.

So what misinformation did she present?? I read the article even though I didn't agree with some of it and much was what Manning did or believed. She still reported the news. She presented a point of view that was valid and over time maybe proven truthful. One fact remains that can't be argued. Manning won a sizable monitary amount from CCSD. An amount that could have been avoided by firing him for doing some thing wrong. Most people are posting their BS thoughts Few present facts. Well I just gave you two facts. Jump on me for them

Suybutai you really are stupid and ill informed. The ones transferring out are the smarter kids and the whites don't you even understand what is going on . It is obvious you have no clue about how the "A" scores where obtained. He is a shocker for you watch in the near future for the state to come out with a report about a couple of CCSD school that cheated. I will name them if you want or maybe you should look into you all know 8 ball and ask

Could this be a manning? I liked how you looked up the variations on spelling of my screen name. Doing a little internet searching are we?

So why would a parent transfer a child from a A school to one that is lower? Just asking. It is not like a half dozen straight A student are going to make that much of a difference on the overall score, on either school.

It sounds a like alot of work for little gain on the parents part. At least by looking at the school scores. I understand they may have other reasons good and bad to take their children somewhere else. But your arguement is that parents of smart (white) kids agree with CF and are transfering their children out, because of low scores, that arguement is now very weak when two of the schools in the kirtland scored well.

So what happens when your grade school kid grows up and in early high school asks why you transfered him into farmington schools where he was taken away from his kirtland friends. The cowardly Kirtland Children First parent isn't going to say:

"Ricky honey, we had to send you to farmington schools because mom, and dad wanted you to go to school with people like us, who believe people should be seperate. We are called Segregationists".

As far as the "Cheating Schools" go ahead and call your PED pet, and call the DT. The real question would be why someone in the previous admin knew something was wrong and do nothing. Maybe that is why Epperson fell on his sword rather than fire Manning. I would love to hear about that. In the end it would be a reflection on the lack of institutional control of the last administration.
