I've been out of town and just wanted to know what the latest on Cody Foutz , the football player and alleged rapist, is. Last I heard there was no case because the prosecutor messed something up. Thanks for any info

I LIVE OUT OF STATE BUT STILL READ THE LOCAL PAPAER TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT IS GOING ON. IT IS AN OUTRAGE THAT THE SCHOOL SYSTEM ALLOWD AN ALLEGED RAPEST TO CONT. ON SCHOOL. I THOUGHT WHEN I GRADUATED AZTEC HIGH IT WAS A GOOD SCHOOL IF I RETURN HOME MY KIDS WILL NOT ATTEND.

I can't believe that Cody Foutz hasn't even been to trial and yet he has been presumed guilty by the media and citizens of San Juan County. What ever happened to the right to a fair trial and having to prove that a person is guilty???? I don't presume to know all of the facts. Don't you think that we should not convict a person solely on what the media says is true????? Let the truth prevail after everyone has had their voice heard.

I would like to know why Cody Foutz's picture continues to be published on the front page of the paper, having not yet been convicted, except in the Farmington Daily Times. Yet men with convictions for child abuse, child pornography, multiple DWI's and other crimes too numerous to mention go virtually unnoticed! Could it be simply because he is an Aztec High School student and star athlete? Is Farmington bias in thier reporting? Absolutely! That is a crime far worse.

I THOUGHT WHEN I GRADUATED AZTEC HIGH IT WAS A GOOD SCHOOL IF I RETURN HOME MY KIDS WILL NOT ATTEND. Aztec High is a GREAT school...but if you think that your kids belong in a different High School then by all means enroll them elsewhere. Perhaps you can find a school that reenforces your disregard of the Constitutional rights of Americans.

To "Dismayed Citizen".......I couldn't agree with you more. The Daily Times has certainly already convicted Cody Foutz and it is amazing how the media can portray an image that grabs the public and doesn't let go. This is a perfect example of 'the pen is mightier than the sword'.

The reason Cody has already been convicted by the media is because he confessed. He was 18 the girl 13 and a relative who used to worship Cody. Until that night. I am related to both. I heard both sides. That girl went through Hell and still is. Cody has only shown remorse for the loss of his football career in High school. But now he doesn't have to worry because the Farmington Roughnecks picked him up. Codys father is also the father of the victim. Since the police have a full confession from Cody he was looking at some time, hopefully probation. However this is not good enough for Cody and his father. Now they are pleading not guilty because it was CONSENSUAL. That is BS. I cannot believe his father would put his little girl through this so that Cody can play football. When I talked to her this 13 year old little girl did not even know what consensual meant. She went through hell worrying if she was pregnant, had an std and also had trauma to her body consistent with a rape. The hospital records prove it. The night this happened Cody had broken up with his girlfriend and their wise father left them alone in an apt. with a fifth of whiskey! Poor Cody my butt. He devastated a child and tore a family apart. But all is well now. Cody can play football while his father talks his daughter into saying she wanted this.

Kim...some of us watched Cody grow up and play ball with our kids in Aztec. All I'm saying is this:
EVERYONE deserves to have a trial and have their voice heard in their own defense. Let the courts sort it out and reserve judgement until all is on the table. The only people that know what went down are Cody and the girl. The rest of us are just reacting to 2nd hand info. Chill out and say a prayer that the truth prevails.

To all you judgemental rednecks the Daily Times is a bunch of horse shit just like most of the people in this area. Everything here is "lets make everyone else look bad and ourselves look better" The paper is 90 percent bullshit and half of you people dont even know what happend. The kid made a mistake they both did is it right no but who are we do judge and decide ? if you want a say join the city council or something. lazy fucks like yourselves read what is written and form your opinion based on that info not caring or knowing anything else. It upsets me because yes i know Cody and he is a good kid, and once again i am not saying what happend is right but all in all like someone earlier wrote who leaves their kids alone with liquor like that? i think people need to start looking at other resolutions. Its good that the roughnecks have embraced cody into their family because its obvious he has nothing else how would you feel? exactly so once again what happend was wrong and is unfortunate but life goes on should we tie him up and stone him to death "some of you prejudice fucks would probably like that" NO live and learn!!!

I am sorry to all the people i've hurt never did i want to cause so much pain to so much people. It is true i am covicted, i did plead guilty to my charge... But really no one knows the truth only her, me, and the man up stairs. and if everyone thinks i tried to save my own ass just to play football, your so wrong. If i could i would give up football if it ment to take all of the pain and suffering away from my family and to my community...before you judge me or her you should ask one of us in person

You would give up football. Wow. What a noble and sacrificial thing to do.
