I was encouraged to see the Daily Times run a front page article about National Coming Out Day, and what that means for the GLBTQI Community. Thank you to those individuals who were willing to be interviewed for this article. However, I was disappointed to see the quote from Pastor Timothy Dunn they chose to highlight on page A2. He stated, "If you're stealing staples off your boss's desk, it's just as wrong as homosexuality." I appreciate Pastor Dunn's willingness to welcome the GLBTQI community into his church, but comparing homosexuality to stealing does not make any sense. It is not wrong to be gay, and the comparisons of homosexuality to stealing or any other crime (like adultery or murder are often sited) is unconscionable.

You're absolutely right, but at least our "civilization" is making a little bit of progress (they're not burning a cross on your lawn anymore). I will be so glad when religious leaders "wake up" and realize how silly they sound saying, "well, it's a sin, but so is adultery" etc. and, "we love you anyway." Use your common sense, people, use your hearts, pull your nose out of words which were written thousands of years ago, use your connection to God, to realize how stupid and wrong this sounds. To love someone is not a sin. Jesus would never say loving is a sin, regardless of the gender.

What we're trying to say here, sweetie, is that loving someone is not a sin. God, I wish Jesus was here right now. I know He'd say the same.

why don't they all just 'struggle' back into their closets and get out of our faces every second of the day. for such a small percentage of people compared to 'normal' humans, their constant 'looky at me' syndrome gets old.

No, it is not. Beastiality is a crime. Being GLBT is not. Simple as that.

how the Barack Obama Administration handled the Libyan fiasco in light of national deaths is a sorry response to the GLBT national affairs!!!!!!

GLBT affairs is thrown under the bus in light of the US Presidential elections 6-8 weeks from now.

How disgusting!

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aries

You're idealistic and impressionable today, and want to see the best in everyone. Look straight past their faults, pretending they aren't there; concentrate on their good points instead. If a new relationship gets off the ground now it will always be characterized by an aura of romance and fantasy, and a slightly otherworldly quality.
