"Also trying to use the Constitution as their basis to remove Christian holidays from our calendar"

If they truly knew their history, they would know many of the so called Christian holy days are actually converted Pagan Holy Days. This was done to convert the "ignorant" to Christianity.
"How many of our founders died to protect the freedoms of faith and the creed of man's existence under a sovereign God?"

Actually many of the original founders of this proud nation were once "ignorant" Pagans. Their referral to one Sovereign God was met to many any Higher Spiritual Power you chose to believe in. King James is the one who turned Christianity into the "only" religion in an attempt to control and manipulate his "subjects".

Now before you bash me. I am for freedom of religion. In teaching my daughter, who is also of a similar belief system as me although her father is a Christian pastor at his church, I taught her just because one wants to refer to their higher spirit as god and another as goddess or whatever, does not mean they are not the same spirit - the higher powers "speak" to each individual in a way that individual will relate to. Just because you are standing in a Christian Church does not mean you can not give thanks to that in which you believe in.

I have attended many Christian Churches. I have always returned to that in which my heart truly believes in and just because it works for me, does not mean it will work for you.

I also agree all of this politically correctness needs to end. We are Americans not: African-American, Irish-American, German-American, Mexican-American. IF you were born and raised in this country, you are an American. If you insist on holding ties to your so-called home country, Please return "home" and do our welfare system a favor.

with that said... I am Proud to be an American....

Don't blame us atheists. Minorities can't make people do anything they don't want to do. Majorities approve the laws and can make new ones or change existing laws.

If you want to place blame for the moral conditions of this country don't go around blaming minorities. Minorities are easy targets.(Ask the Jews in Germany in the 1930's, or Native Americans or black people in American history)

We all have to take a hard look at the person in the mirror.

Hmmm...very interesting and SCARY point of view. Eleanor, put down your bible and listen up! FYI, the intent of the your slave owning "Founding fathers" when they violently acquired this land to create America was to separate church from state. Yes, a secular country in which you are free to practice your OWN religion! This is basic Civics 101. Furthermore, teachers are paid to teach, not preach. So, yes faith and religions do not belong in schools. Remember, not everyone is religious and proud to be american like you are Eleanor. Wise up! Ouestion: Wasn't our former President a christian who went to war? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't warmongering unchristianlike and destroy life? I guess christians have double standards? And yes, Obama continues to apoligize for American arrogance and ignorance. America has committed far more acts of violence to our own people as well as those abroad...just ask Native Americans. If you ask me, religion can become dangerous if not checked. So, let me have it!

Eleanor Doerr
Madalyn Murray O'Hair and her little band of atheists succeeded in getting Bible reading out of public schools. They said it might "contaminate" the minds of our public schools and free-thinking children
Thank Goodness....I am not an atheist, but the public classroom is not the place for Bible class...If you want Bible readings enroll your children in a church sponsored school...Children cannot be free thinking, if they are being spoon fed dogma...

Eleanor Doerr
The point is we are going down an immoral sewer, drowning in debt, liberal judges overriding the wishes of the people. We have gotten away from our Founding Fathers and how they set up this country.
The people spoke in Nov., 2008, with a resounding voice...It was the majority's wish to distance the country from the guy who lied us into an immoral war, under the guise of it being God's plan..
s. Little by little we are losing our sovereignty. Obama goes everywhere always apologizing for our country. When there have been disasters, earthquakes, floods everywhere, it is the U.S. who has been there first to help. The Fourth of July is near. Let's be proud Americans.
After 8 years of Bush's arrogance and [our way or the hiway] attitude, a little apologizing was in order...I am a proud American year-round...I just don't subscribe to your idea of what it takes to be one....

What the writer of the letter fails to mention regarding the ACLU suit to remove the cross in the Mohave, is that the cross is on federal land. Using a sectarian religious symbol is not permissible on federal land.
She also failed to mention, the suit is defended by the dreaded Government she goes on in her letter to debase. Go figure.
The worst of that cross business is that by having the cross there suggest only Christians are recognized at the war memorial. Why didn't the writer suggest honoring all WW I veterans including Muslim veterans, Jewish veterans, atheist veterans or agnostic veterans?

Not to mention that this whole thing started when a Buddhist group applied to erect their own memorial and were DENIED.

But of course that little fact is omitted.

You made a too big of a leap there hand. She was talking about the minority view of the Left, not the PC 'sacred cow' minorities of race or creed.
The extreme Left is a minority view and judges do go against Constitutional law and the will of the people.'Reason', died in the 1960's.
This is comming from an agnostic the sees organized religion as primitive television.

BLAME ATHEISTS. THEY are not coming into all homes telling people to act the way they do! EACH PERSON is responsible for his/her own behaviour and ATHEISTS are a SMALL PERCENTAGE of the population. Are you therefor saying they are ALL-POWERFUL? LOL.

Will you explain what you think is the connection between these three things?
The extreme left is a minority, just like the extreme right. So what?
Some judges do , mostly unintentionally I presume, go against the constitution. That's why we have a Supreme Court.
Judges always go against the will of some people.Duh.

You're about as lost as one can be! I've always said, if you don't like who you are, then make an immediate change. If you're not proud to be an American, simply move your arse a few miles to the Canadian side of the continent. Being a Christian does not prevent one from having to 'pick up the sword.' If you're not intelligent enough to understand history and that evil-driven murderours dictators must be stopped, then simply go back to your sleepy little dream world or get the hell out! Either way, your kind of people make me and most other real Americans sick to our stomachs. There, now you have it as you wished.

No, you get the hell out! Your kind of of people make real Americans sick to their stomachs and we are beginning to speak out about it. We, real Americans protect our homeland when we must. But we don't like fighting wars because some Christian nutcase like you says we have to.
Saddam was perfectly under control and no threat to the US and we didn't need to "take him out". If you knew anything about history you accuse others of nor knowing you would understand. But you don't and you don't.
Leave buttwipe. Go somewhere like Iran where you can have your ignorant religious pseudo patriotic crap. You are worthless here.

Activist judges are mainly on the extreme Left, and the activist judges are the ones going angainst the constitution and the will of the people. CA's prop 187 is an example of this comes to mind.

You're obviously an uneducated, crack addict. You really believe Saddam was 'perfectly under control'? Your kind complains of 'torturing' terrorist maniacs, but have you any freaking clue what Saddam did to his own people? Oh by the way, I can guarantee you I've been to more southwest Asian and other foreign countries than you'll ever even dream about while high. I promise you, it's not what we have in America.

Your 'pseudo patriotic' and 'worthless' statements made me laugh. Truly, you are a genius at showing your own stupidity. You can be thankful for this nation's military forces who allow you to have the freedoms you have. I'm very happy here. Conversely, you sound like the unhappy one. Why not take a dose of your own medicine and go to some of those places you've never been? Who knows, you might fit right in! What a dumba $$, wannabe, with no future - I'm betting on it!

Of course "Activist judges" are on the left. The term is a pejorative used to refer to left wing judges.Duh!

[QUOTE and the activist judges are the ones going angainst the constitution and the will of the people. CA's prop 187 is an example of this comes to mind.[/QUOTE] Now I do understand the connection you were making.

BTW. The courts ruling on Prop. 187 went against the people but held up the constitution.
The people aren't always right in the light of the law, the constitution is ALWAYS right.
