Suspend driver licenses for seniors and people under 21? What the hell is wrong with you people? Farmington is still in the United States of AMERICA, right? I have never before seen so many people bitch and moan in my life. Just be glad you are able to enjoy the freedoms you have. This poor woman lost her life because of an unfortunate accident, and you people already assume it was her fault by saying that she shouldn't have had a drivers license. Accidents happen and we shouldn't be criticizing the laws because you feel that our elderly citizens are incapable of driving. You people should be ashamed of yourselves!!

My prayers go out to the family, and my sincerest apologies for using this forum to express my disappointment in my fellow citizens.

You are spot on!
My in-laws couldn't hear a fleet of emergeny vehicles converging on them from all directions, but who cares. They can't turn their heads as well as they used to be able to, so now they just stop, count to five and proceed to pull away and/or turn from an intersection. The last accident my father in-law was in a motorcycle stoped in front of him and the sun was in his eyes. Motorcycles are small to begin with, the sun was in his eyes, and the fact that he doesn't see or react as fast as he used to should have no bearing. As you said so well "Accidents happen", besides the kid that died was 18 had no wife or family so no great loss.
God Bless you and thanks for caring!
Prayers to the family as well, sh it happens, more to some then others but......this is still America!

No great loss??? Are you freaking nutz? He had parents and friends and a whole lifetime ahead. Older drivers are much preferred to the drunken antics usually found.

It looks like you somehow believe an older driver could do what Bingo say's his/her father in-law did. I bet Bingo was just pointing out some things that older drivers do EVERY DAY in America.
They need to be out from behind the wheel and when America get's good public transportation like the rest of the world, riding on it.

I agree; but when moving 3000+ lbs of steel at 30+mph there should be NO BAD DRIVERS!

We need far more stringent training & testing and regular on-going retraining & retesting for all. Handheld devices of any kind while operating a motor vehicle should be banned.

Bingo,

I understand what you are trying to say, and I also understand that people age differently. But what I don't understand is why you believe that the elderly should have their driving privileges revoked on the account of your in-laws are bad drivers. I live in the Middle East where 90% of the people driving here are much worse than anything I have ever seen. The women wear hijabs (the head covering traditionally worn by Muslim women) while they drive, which makes it very difficult to see anything, even me!! You think you have it bad, come drive in Kuwait for a day. This is another reason why women in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to drive. FREEDOM is what makes America different from the Arabs, and another reason why they hate us so much. Strange comments like this make me wonder about people in America and the direction we're headed. We Americans are FREE people, but why do people insist on creating more laws? We're only restricting ourselves and before we know it, we'll be calling each other comrade.

Or, you could just call it discrimination. Either way, it's ****ed!!

We call ourselves Americans, lets try to act like it!!
