That jury should be hung along with the prosecutor for not putting a rapist away after he admitted to C.O's in jail along with inmates that he committed the crime to teach her a lesson. What kind of lesson could that be besides now mentally killing the poor child! I pray there will be a re trial because of my understanding it was a hung jury..I pray she receives justice. And come on now, the little didn't steal the condom because at the time the lady of the house was pregnant. Common sense prosecutors, use your heads...

Cosme, I would hate to be in your shoes when you stand before the Judgement Bar of the Lord if your "duty" was to twist the truth in this case to allow a guilty man go free and an innocent girl suffer the shame of being raped and now accused, by you, of fabricating evidence. Admitting to inmates and C.O's? And how would you know that? Were you a C.O? Or an inmate?

The mother of the so-called victim should be the one on trial for negligence, ignorance and definitely no discipline and letting her daughter run loose and wild. The so-called victim probably have doing sex all along with others. This should be a lession to area mothers and fathers who are rearing teenage daugthers.

i really don't know the details on this case but if you have dna and siliva that sounds pretty darn solid. what the *****? how did the jury come to that verdict? Sounds real hokie. i hope the poor girl can recover from this.

Sounds to me like the daughter was only following what she learned from her mother. "apple doesnt fall to far from the tree" and in this case, they just happen to be bruised apples. Whether Colby did this or not, he was put on trial and found not guilty. Unless you were the victim or defendent, the answer is only known between the two. Even the jury doesnt know the whole truth and from what was presented was not enough. Besides I wouldn't put it past that family to conjure up some crazy ideas to get revenge...have you met that family. In the end, God will have the final word..and that part is scary talk.

What if she was being punished by God for lying. Everyone is so quick to believe a teenager. I know my own and others lie a lot.

My prayers are with this poor girl. She had the guts to come forward with the information and now she is deamed a 'liar' by the dumb people of the jury. Like i said before, in other posts prior to this. This family is known for being devious and cunning, I am not saying she deserved this, BUT there is a possibility that she could be lying as well. That family is not perfect and has known to do some foul stuff. All I can say is WOW, you comment on things that you dont have all the details to. I knew both parties and can see how each one of them can be lying.

This guy must be either the luckiest or the stupidest guy in San Juan County. First he gets away with murder and now with rape, what's next? How many times has this loser procreated (how many kids does he have he's supposedly going to "take care of") Does he have a JOB? How can you people sit here and believe that someone who has DNA evidence from the accused person, is lying? How exactly does one plant evidence with semen and saliva? Did she ask him to spit into a cup and request samples of semen for this very purpose? Get real! I'm sure that there are cases where people do fabricate lies however, I seriously doubt that a 15 yr. old female is going to plant such evidence on her body and go through the humliating process of having a rape kit done just to frame someone. We have some really deep thinkers in this county, hope it won't be your children that are hurt by this child molester that walked.

I can't believe the Farmington court system. With DNA evidence they found this man not guilty? She was only fifteen years old, she deserved some justice. It seems like the whole San Juan County Area just lets all the criminals off easy. Drug users and dealers, DUI's and now Rapists. The jury should be ashamed of themselves, this girl had to have gone through alot to testify against her Rapist/RELATIVE. She will never be the same again and now she knows the police and Justice system are no help. The county is sending a strong signal to all future victims to not report rapist because no one is going to believe them. SAD SAD DAY IN SAN JUAN HISTORY>

did it ever occur to you the mother is still in love with the fool...she always has been. May be she is still letting him hit it on the side?:) There is a number of ways to get that done, Farmington is so small, Im sure he didnt have problem with getting any girls and those girls are just as scandulous and would sleep with him to foul him up and help their friend out. If the "victim" was truthful and didn't exaggerate any details, I am sure justice would have prevailed. ANYONE can see when something this big doesn't seem right and 12 jurors saw that.

To "Irate" Your ignorance is astounding. Rape is rape. The victim and her mother have no responsiblity in her rape. Ignorance like yours is deadly to our society, our brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, grandmothers, grandfathers, etc. Victims of rape are just that VICTIMS. The perpetrators are 100% responsible for their crimes. Yes, CRIMES!

I just have to say that the word "Justice" should be removed from the english language. Plain and simple, Colby Crawford is a career criminal. Society should have aborted him before birth. He has and always will be a scumbag. Mark my words he will re-offend. Hopefully though this time he will end up on the wrong end of someones gun.

As for those of you who critcize the victim and her family. I have met these people, and yes they don't live on "F" hill or bleed money. But the mom, who will be the first to admitt she is far from perfect and has made mistakes in life is a hard working single mother who is raising her children without the help of child support, and very little if any government assistance. The victim in the case, even with all that has happened in the recent years, has managed to maintain a good G.P.A in school, is active in sports and has plans to attend college after she graduates. Her siblings are just as smart and athleticly gifted as she is. This familys only mistake is that they are cursed being related to Colby Crawford.

As for Attorney Cosmi Ripol? I guess it takes a slime ball to defend one. However I don't understand how a person, whos own daughter was a victim of a rape, could ( oh yeah ) could defend someone accused of the same crime. Talk about no morals. Your daughter must be proud to call you her dad Cosmi.

Now, last but not least. The jury, did what they thought was right. They were blindsided by Cosmi's theatrics and the most lackluster presentation by the " special prosecutors " from Grants. These guys were supposed to be the S**T, but in reality must have got their Law Degrees from a "Cracker Jacks" box. I know these facts because I was in the court room, and NO i am not a member of the victims family. I am just a person who witnessed a guilt S.O.B go free.

HAHA...I understand that, but when did you become the judge and the person with all the answers. What happened to innocent until proven guilty. It's people like who who are quick to assume, that ruin this country. I never said she was responsible and IF this offense occurred, then yes he deserves to be punished, but that did not happen. The accuser, because that is what she is, and the accused are the only ones who know what happened. So only God can judge them...AND ME :)
