When I first heard there was another winery opening in the area I was excited...plus it was opening close to my house.
I've given it numerous chances and have been extremely disappointed every time. I've waited over two hours for a sandwich that wasn't even good when I got it...they've been out of stock of nearly all bottled beer...a lot of the music has been horrible...it looks like a granite quarry landed on the place (what's up with all the granite)...the owner has been strange and weird (pretty sure he's on drugs)...I've watched the owner bypass the register and put money in his pocket...I could keep going and going.
The biggest thing is...it's not a vineyard or winery! They grow no grapes and make no wine! How are they a winery?
From now on if I want to go to a winery I go to Charleville, Chaumette or Cave...all very nice places.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?

. He doesn't make the wine there. He buys it pre bottled and puts a label on it. As far as food, nasty! And yes...he is on drugs. I heard he used to "deal" out of a local bar. Not sure if he still does but I'm sure he's not a "good 'ole country boy".

I've had a very similar experience. It's a shame because it has great potential, the pond is so welcoming as well as a playground for the kids to play-along with board games, etc.
But unfortunately, the food, wine and service lacks. A business can't succeed with poor service and poor food/drinks! It also took me over an hour to receive my one order of nachos, the wine wasn't great & the time I went, they also ran out of every bottled beer except Coors Light.
As for the owner, he was handing out, what it looked like, was home-made moonshine, sharing it with every person he came in contact with. He not only was noticeably drunk, but strung out on something. It's unfortunate the owner doesn't take more pride in his business and do a bit of research on wine as well as having a bit of common sense when it comes to the restaurant business-& it doesn't take a genius to have good customer service!

He gets drunk and drives his golf cart up and down the road. He hires some pretty sketchy looking people to work for him building stuff and let's them stay in campers on the property. Last Halloween they had a hay ride where everyone was drunk, they had children with them riding in the back of trucks and on a wagon full of hay, everyone still drinking and smoking cig in a wagon full of hay, children and adults. You can look the pics up on their Facebook page. I know some people who live very close to him and they where never asked about having this place put up next to their property. On Friday and sat nights the music is so loud they can't even go inside their house without hearing it. I have personally seen what looked like drug deals going on on the side of the house and he has been seen serving to minors.

I think you people are just plan silly, I have been a Officer in this area for over ten years and go to Papas all the time.I have never once seen anything of the such out there. I have seen the owner put money in his pocket and give free drinks. Big deal he own's the place he can do that. As for minors I see the bartender Matt(Think that's his name)card everyone that I would of, even the one's I wouldn't. It was his parents in-law that stayed in the trailer on the property. How do I know this cause I asked him and maybe you should ask some time instead of jumping the gun. So I also guess you judge people on the way they look? Well maybe I should do the same in my job right? Next time if you go out there instead of looking for nothing good try talking to people might change your mind.

Well I love the place nothing has ever came close to Papa's in this area. Me and my husband go out there all the time. I wouldn't change a thing. As for the wine being made some were else-so- he has only been open for less than two years. If you don't know it takes three years for grapes to become ready for wine. As for the people who work there I say they are the best.I never had anyone from another winery come around and ask me if everthing was ok,as well as ask me how Iwas doing. So I say go out there the bartender rocks and the chief is out of this world.

I like refer to this place as "the hillbilly winery" I like it. Dress casual and no snobs drinking with a pinky in the air like the other places. Plus the sangria is the best I've ever had. Food is always great. Never been disappointed

When I went there, I had a good time until some red headed ginger fuck that worked there decided he was going to hit on my girlfriend while I was sitting next to her. I was about to drop serious money there, but we ended up going somewhere else before I got drunk and out of control. But the place seemed nice.

Had the best time when Boyfriend took me there about a month ago.. they had a nice fire going, laid bk atmosphere. everyone was friendly and the service was great! I felt welcome and at home, was all so casual and comfortable.. food was amazing and the drinks were great.. was decorated festive just for me.. and the owner did not appear to be under the influence of anything.. he was very friendly and attentive to his customers that he treated like friends!
