I think that it is a logical concern to question the motivation behind such a tragic death. I have known the family in question for over 30 years, and they are wonderful people who have had an unfortunate amount of tragedy. Although I was present at the funerals of both of their sons I don't know the specifics of why either of them were so despondent that they felt the only recourse was to end their lives. Even though I know the family quite well I wouldn't be comfortable causing them extra distress by asking them outright about the circumstances such as mental illness surrounding the deaths of their children/siblings.

I don't blame people for being curious or wanting to know how to help others who may find themselves in a a similar situation. I think some people come on Topix to gain understanding. Not everyone is out to badmouth the family, nor to cause pain. Curiosity in the event of being open and asking questions could actually help prevent another tragedy such as this from happening to another person...Knowledge is power.

I would normally agree with you, but if you've even seen any of her other posts using terrible profanity and bringing people down, you wouldn't want her asking a question she has no business snooping around in. It's before her time, and doesn't concern her life. Show respect. As to "him", don't even. Mental illness is serious and deadly. How dare anyone say it's cowardly and taking the easy way out, no one knows the emotional pain going through the person and I'd like to see you suffer the same and actually go through with ending your life before you call it "the easy way out."

I didn't know him personally but I knew a lot of his friends very well and for his family and friend family I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know for a fact he was probably one of the coolest guys ever (and that's just from everything I hear. Never heard a bad thing). Just remember only the good die young, and he definitely was "the good". You all are in my thoughts :)

I never knew Ben, and I regret the fact that I didn't after finding out he was actually my cousin. I've heard he was a really great person, and I feel terribly sorry for the family. May God bless you all, and keep you strong through these tough times. <3

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Capricorn

If you need to get someone organized, this is the day to do it. You'll sort things out without sounding bossy or patronizing, and you'll also get co-operation instead of resistance. It's a good day for having a serious chat with a child, perhaps because you need to explain something and want to make sure you do it properly, in a way that doesn't create confusion or fear.
