Just a buncha yuppies drinking overpriced coffee. This one time me and Dave went there cuz we heard the cashiers were 100% all natural USDA grade A prime beef. Couldn't understand a damn thing on the menu. Asked the girl what she recommends. She said to try the ham and Swiss on sourdough. Ha! Looked at Dave and said I'd like some of her sourdough. Guy humor. Anyway we got kicked out. Shoulda went to chilis anyway.
U didn't understand what a ham and Swiss sandwich was? Nice!

Honestly, does it matter? The shitty people of this town, who will in turn hire even shittier people to work there, will ruin any nice restaurant that comes in. Because u live in Farmington, where everyone sucks the life outta everything. This is why we can't have nice things.

Anybody know if it will be called St Louis Bread Company or Panera Bread? Farmington is still a part if the "St. Louis area" so I hope they keep the St Louis name. The location in Cape is "Panera." I don't know where the "naming line" is.

Panera, Stl county and a few older units in the surrounding counties get the Stl Bread Co. Banner.. All others go in as Panera Bread. It will be store (unit) number #1733 for those looking to apply, or you can look it up as Farmington.

Considering the business population draw area is over 300k, I'd say quite a few. Choice is good, it's up to you which restaurants you enjoy and support. It's nobodies concern other than the business owners what kind of profit they are able to achieve.

Not to mention the tax base increase is good for the community in which the restaurant is based. Especially since much of their tax will be from customers outside of the city limits.

All it takes is for somebody to say hey I think if I invest some money in a certain area it will make me a profit. Clearly BT isn't an area people feel like they can get a return on thier investment.

What a nice, simple minded explanation, Dave74. I'm afraid it's a little more complicated than that. Clearly, business is not your forte', please don't quit McDonalds!

We'll I could've went into the demographics and the studies companies use to decide where to locate or TIF and CID opportunities, but the simple answer I gave is a simple truth. Bonne terre doesn't even have a McDonlads, pretty sure if there was much chance for ROI there would be one there.

Bonne Terre is to Farmington, what East St.Louis is to St.Louis,- I think that was what Dave was trying to say. He was just showing a little more tact.

Not really my point, BT just doesn't have the numbers to support some things. It's not about the people it's about the numbers. Farmington is adding things that make it somewhat of a shopping destination. When you travel from somewhere like Iron or Reynolds county to buy something from Lowes, you might as well stop and eat somewhere they don't have everywhere, Pasta House, Panera's, Shogun. Once the big grocery store and Menard's come it will be even more the case.
