Duggan is gone. It will be an all slate black slate. But Duggan has good reason to be mad at himself and others. He said he knew the wording of the law yet he filed early so it was his personal error. The clerk at the elections office could have said something and did not. City clerk Janice Winfrey should have spotted the error and rejected the ballot in a timely manor which would have allowed Mike to refile before the deadline and after the required year residency. She failed to do her job and then covered it up by putting him on the ballot anyway as Mike was her favorite candidate. Barrow was waiting in the wings with his challenge.
At the press conference today, Duggan was asked if he plans to stay in Detroit. He can't reveal his carpetbagger intent so he said he would stay. However, the body language between him and his wife suggested it is a jump ball.
