I don't know about everybody in here? but in my opinion Redford Police are the worst as far as traffic violations and pulling people over to meet their quotas?I hope to God they changed the overtime policy for Redford Cops in which they had to pull over so many people to pay for their OT?My experience was a Stop sign I came to a Stop, Officer Hawk Eye saw me roll through at 500 ft,I asked "Could I Please just get a warning???"my record was clean,of course he said (NO IT'S TO LATE I'M SORRY BUT YOU CAN CONTEST IT.)so I did when I arrived that morning to the FINNNNNNNNNNEEEEEE!!!!!REDFORD COURTHOUSE,I was to appear before Magistrate Clark "THE FINNNNNNNE REDFORD OFFICCCCCCCER CALLED EVERYONE WHO HE HAD WRITTEN A TICKET TO OUT IN THE HALL, HE SPOKE TO EVERYONE INDIVIDUALLY AND IF YOUR DRIVING RECORD WAS CLEAN HE WOULD GIVE YOU A GOOD RECOMENDATION AND JUST ASKED EVERYONE TO PLEA GUILTY WITH AN EXPLANATION AND IF YOU DID DIFFERENTLY YOU MAY NOT HAVE A GOOD OUTCOME"well let's do the MATH 10 Officers that morning each with 20 or 30 people so you went... in (NO CASE WAS DISMISSED)EVERYONE PLEAD GUILTY TO IMPEDING TRAFFIC AT THAT TIME 75.00 DOLLARS NO POINTS.200 PEOPLE 15,000 DOLLARS OR IF IT WAS 300 22,500,that was just one day do the math if they do that for 5 days 75.000 or 112.500 per week.I wrote this because I have friends who havegone through the same and it seems when you see the most cops out on any certain day they are doing their cuota days.BEWARE EVERYONE BAD DRIVERS, GOOD DRIVERS,These Bloodsuckers are out everyday,("THE MAGGOTSTRATES ARE NO BETTER)("CLARK WAS ALL SMILES THAT DAY)I WAS TOO UNTIL I LEARNED OF THIS BS.

The real problem which you failed to address...You broke the law and asked for a warning. Consider yourself lucky you didn't receive points and just paid a small fine which is unlikely in many other courts. You're pissed off because the officer was doing his job but failed to provide a warning. Perhaps it would have been nice for him to do so, but not all officers are nice. If you don't break the law, you don't have a problem.

I don't know...I think driver addressed the problem. Not very clearly but if someone knows anything about traffic tickets you can get the jist. Driver mentioned "My experience was a Stop sign I came to a Stop". As far as I get it, the ticket was going to be written wether it was correct or not and driver asked for a warning at that point. Some cities are infamous for getting quotas wether or not you want or they want to make believe it is for o.t. or not. Redford's primary directive for traffic is to make as much $ as possible off traffic tickets but in other community's it's not a priority that's needed. After the tickets written,(wether they were fair or correct) most are intimidated or scared into paying a fine to avoid points ect... I think that's what driver was refering to. I"ve had maybe 2 tickets in the past 15 years about under the same circumstances, not my fault or obvious quota getting. Both I fought and both dismissed, no fine no points. Just need to be persistant and not back down. They know what their doing and will get as much out of it as possible. A friend of mine told me there is a percentage (in most every city that has quotas)of tickets that is figured in as a loss but people that are easily intimidated and afraid more than make up for that!!!

Well, I saw "Officer Hawk Eye saw me roll through at 500 ft," and thought the Driver indicated she rolled passed.

If she did stop, then I apologize for being wrong and would agree, perhaps this cop was just another idiot.

Poeple dont break the law in redford and you dont get tickets. I know i got a ticket also in december for having a headlight burned out. But it is simple to avoid just dont break the law.

Let me explain it better... I was at the stop sign and I did make a complete stop,when I looked in the the mirror this cop was roughly a block and a half away,he could not possibly see me roll thru or make a complete stop at that distance,I didn't want to argue. That is why I asked for a warning "AND OF COURSE HE SAID NO IT WAS TO LATE" he had not written out the ticket when I asked about the warning,The reason I was upset at this was because I had no points,and when you get to the courthouse yes they may dismiss the points??? but you still "PAY THE FINE"most cities if your record is clean and you contest it will normally dismiss it with no fines.I know people who have gone to 36th district court in Detroit and had the violations thrown out no fine,and yes sometimes they were lucky and the cop did not show.Redford will actually make you wait until officer DIPSH__ comes in and if your lucky they just have you plea guilty to impeding traffic which at that time carried no points and a 75.00 dollar fine,REDFORD IS A SCAM,SCAM,SCAM.I've been told of other cities doing this also Livonia Dearborn,Dearborn Heights,Westland,Garden City,but by far the worst was THE REDFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT.

The ISP location does not mean it's where you live. I am in Redford but the ISP is Livonia. I would assume because I have Bright house cable they have control of that. Police,AA,Probation,will not do a bit of good???also Jail...It is a business the city,state both make money when a drunk driver gets pulled over,Secretary of State...Insurance Companies,and after Jennifer Granholm's new DRIVER'S ASSESMENT PROGRAM the Treasury Dept. gets a cut of 1000.00 a year for 2 years,yes drunk drivers desserve punishment and life sentences when lives are taken but this is a gimmick Politicians and Redford Police are the worst.

Your first mistake is assuming a cop will admit to a quota. Police departments no longer admit to quotas whether they really exist or not.

Years ago the quota was simply for financial reasons and was admitted. Now, obviously, the more tickets they write the more money they receive. But since the increase of drivers has blossomed drastically in the past few decades, there is no admittance of quotas since they have an abundance to choose from.

Obviously, departments are aware of how much money is required to pay the bills, but does that equal "quotas"? It's difficult to determine since there are so many violations and so much fluctuation with fines. Therefore, I believe cops may simply write as much as they can, then determine if leniency will be provided based on various circumstances such as driving record, attitude, etc. Then of course, there are those who simply thrive on power and nothing you say or do will disable them from writing that ticket or slapping you with a fine.

I have friends in the law enforcement agency and even they will tell you, or at least me, there are crooked, power hungry and greedy cops. You may as well forget about negotiating with them. This is when it's time to take it to a higher level.

Two good stories about Redford Cops,first it was the Chief of Police or the Deputy Chief who decided to have a (liquid lunch)nice for "get drunk",he had to many drinks at "SANDY'S ON THE BEACH"later the news reported (DRUNKEN CHIEF)drove home one of his own pulled him over and gave (DRUNKEN CHIEF)a ride home,well (DRUNKEN CHIEF)recieved a 30 day suspension with pay,and people say the police don't get treated different,now the story of (DRUNKEN COP)this person was on his way home when he encountered a POLE on Joy Rd.about two blocks east of Telegraph,(DRUNKEN COP)was smarter than (DRUNKEN CHIEF)he (DRUNKEN COP)ran home slept it off but did one thing wrong he left his truck attached to the pole,Police later ran the plate and found out it belonged to (DRUNKEN COP)both of these stories were in the news,ONE LAST TIME DOES THE REDFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT and its judges and magistrates favor their own??????Take a guess.

In general, cops favor other cops. It's well known. Even when another cop is pulled over for a violation, they can flash the badge and most likely will be let go. If not, they will still get out of it since they can have their supervisor contact the supervisor of the arresting officer. One way or another, cops favor other cops and other authoritative figures.
