Wayne County to order construction halted on jail
Detroit -- The Wayne County Building Authority, operating at the request of County Executive Robert Ficano, will order construction halted on a $300-million jail project for the next 60 days starting today because of spiraling costs and budget overruns.

Nothing should have been taken for granted here, but obviously things were done sloppy by amateurs.remember ficano president trumans saying on his desk. "" The buck stops here"

It's not a $300 million project. It started out at $220 million and the projection now is almost $400 million. How does something get that far out of bounds before people notice? Answer= It doesn't. Such large projects have constant reporting. Nobody seemed to care about the cost overages until the maximum exceeded all the money that could be milked from the system. Now Ficano says he can't say whether it's over budget or not. This guy continues to lie about almost everything. There needs to be a way to remove politicians for gross stupidity.
