Benny doesn't expect race to be a factor because he is black. This way he can take the high ground and attract voters who want to seem race neutral. Plus he has the other argument that Duggan is not a native Detroiter. He moved from Livonia for his bid. So Benny can stress "non Detroiter" as a euphemism for white.

Bennie also has the "God Squad" working for him too. I think he will be the front runner in this race.

I know about Judge Greg Mathis who is a big money raiser and openly supports Benny. Greg will be running much of the campaign beyond the fund raising portion. The Mathis story itself is cloudy. The system cut him breaks never experienced by others and I don't know why. I was around when YBI was going strong and young Mathis was a rolling. He never admits to some of the things he did long ago and was never brought to juctice. Now he's been canonized.
PS. I have enjoyed the judge's show.
