It should be taxed. It is imperative to legalize dispensaries as this is where the taxing can be done and 1099's issued to sellers and, most importantly to provide a safe place where legal medicine can be obtained. Our law enforcement needs a clear division between legal and illegal and the dispensaries limit how the medicine is distributed. They also test the product so that there are no molds or other infestations are present. Recently, the former Oakland County Drug Czar, announced that he now DOES NOT consider marijuana a gateway drug and he is right. There are many benefits to marijuana and the biggest opposition is from the Drug companies and the people they sponsor. Imagine no side effect pain relief, oh ok, you might fall asleep.
By not allowing dispensaries our Officials are creating a prohibition scenario where anything goes like in the wild west. Our failed drug policies have cost over 30,000 Mexicans their lives! And have created criminals out of innocence. Our Attorney General continues his fight against dispensaries, which is a fight against sick and dying citizens who thought we had passed a law to legalize medical marijuana. His actions make it difficult if not impossible for needy individuals with Medical Marijuana cards that were issued from the state for a fee to get the relief they need from a dispensary. And only about 10% of all the growers are really producing medical quality marijuana. Call and write to your Representative and tell them what you want. Tell them you want an Attorney General that is shrinking the criminal element in our society not expanding it like our present AG, Bill Schutte. He wanted to hand over the registration list of all growers and patients in Michigan to the DEA. On his watch, we now have many more meth labs popping up around the state, and let us not forget that he raised four of our Michigan cities to the most crime ridden top 10 in our country while he includes himself in a case to close a dispensary in Macomb. He also has directed his officers to confiscate all medical marijuana involved in a case and not give it back. Now if someone has the money, eventually in one of these cases , someone is going to counter sue and take a City or a County that denied rights to court and wind up OWNING that city or County. So far no one has the money to stand up to some pretty questionable practices going on in the courts. The plan is to make you run out of money and give up and in most cases it is working. Sorry so long.
