Body identified as former WestConn athlete

A 33-year-old former Western Connecticut State University football team captain and assistant coach, the father of three children, was identified Friday as the dead man found two days ago.

Sounds like his life got WAY off track, if his former coaches in high school and at WestConn thought he was a good leader and role model 10 years ago.
How do you get from there to pimp (prostitution conspiracy charge mentioned in the article) and pot charges?
And he was still married, with 3 children?

And is there indeed no connection whatsoever to the place he was found, Faith Church, nor to the empty prescription bottle found nearby?

It's getting easier for people to get to that stage-look at how the world works now....nobody is immune. People are loosing their houses, jobs, prices are skyrocketing for everything. It's not easy getting help from anyone when you need it. I know, I've been there-when I separated from my husband some 11 years ago, with a 5 year old in hand, I couldn't even get food stamps and that was all I was asking help with. At the time, I was only working part-time and making $600/mth. I walked out of the social services office where two women with beautifully manicured nails were waiting for their weekly check-discussed me! I'm doing just alittle below ok but I never forget that it only takes very few incidences to turn that around and loose everything. Sometimes it's just not that easy to ask for help and it gets harder after you've been denied.

I had not read the posts in a couple of days, but I have to say that I am really sickened by the IGNORANT people & humbled by others..I am a friend of this family..I am so glad the widow is not reading these posts!!(the negative ones anyway) I would just hope that you receive in life what you wish on others.

While it may be sad this man took his life, no one but he knows what brought him to that decision.
It said he was the father of 3, not that he was married.
I guess he wasn't much of a role model for his kids..........
Another one taking the easy way out. When the going gets tough, the weak simply end up saving the tax payers a lot of money.

Children have lost their daddy, just before the holidays. When will you people try showing a little bit of human sensitivity. Imagine these kids in a few years, looking up info on their father, online, and running across the comments you have made? Do you have ANY humanity left in you? Sometimes, the old addage "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" is still a gem of wisdom.

Nelson was my coach when I was at Wesconn. He was actually my position coach and I learned from him every day. He was kind, considerate and had a great sense of humor. I am not sure as to what happened or how/if his life has been affected since. All I know from him being my coach and spending hours each day for 7 months at a clip, he was far from anything bad. I just wish his wife and kids the best no matter how his life ended there was definitely good in this man.

everyone has a run in with the law weather it from tickets,drugs,DUI,or just a simple mis - understanding. I wish the best for his kids
