I love this place.I just moved to farmingdale. Everyone is so polite. When i go there i feel like i am at home.Kathy the owner is the best.I tried several people there and like the all the services they did on me. I have been in the beauty business for 30 years and i know good work. IF you are looking for a quaint and comfortable place to go to go to KATHY'S NICE NAILS.

I have never felt so comfortable in the presence of a stranger. Cathy is a loving, warm business owner who puts people first.

The service is incredible, with knowledgeable staff who are as sweet and kind as the owner.

To recommend Cathy's Nice Nails is an understatement. I would go so far as to say that everyone owes it to themselves to experience it at least once!!

PS: I have brought my daughter there, and she is made to feel so special by Cathy and her staff!

Got tips on, two days later fell off, one by one. Horrible job! I have had my nails done for years, decided to try someone local. Would NEVER go back.

Some reviews here are great, others are not. I am wondering if perhaps Cathy should re-evaluate the professionalism and knowledge of her nail techs, and replace them.

I garden and just can't keep nice nails but my daughter will be moving back in end of summer. We live on the border of Freehold and Howell, so this is informative.

Their services are great. Definitely best nail technicians I have ever experienced in NJ.

The only problem is, you have to be well rested to spend half an hour in that salon. The owner is VERY loud, some of the girls who work there (even though they're are doing great work) are pretty loud and obnoxious. While you're getting your nails done, one or two other girls who aren't working will sit and chit chat with our technician and often eat and talk to each other about their personal business while doing your nails.

It is true, if you come with a child, they treat them like a princess.

The chaos is easy to get used to if you go there enough, it does have a family feel.

this salon is not like any other...these girls are super nice and they all get along with eachother...its so nice to go in and be included in conversations and be treated so kindly...they offer you coffee and deliver it to you (with a smile) it is like an old time salon...the nice warm family salons they had 20 years ago...so nice to finally have something so nice so close to home, and the prices are not high...makes me happy

The owner is a real "booby doll". She is sincere and sweet. However, the last time I was there she was on her cell phone (the speaker!) talking very loudly! During this time the business phone rang quite a bit. She was the only one working and answering the calls while her staff was eating their lunch and paying no mind to what was going on. I had a mani and pedi which were fine but a little disappointed in the quick pedi. I had asked the woman to "soften my heels", etc. I was ignored. I don't appreciate that as a mani/pedi is a treat for me. In any case, Cathy should ask her girls to be a litte quieter and eat their lunch in the back. It's very unprofessional and perhaps when she has a personal call on her cell she can talk softly. I would assume most people appreciate quiet and want to relax when they are paying for a such services. I wish them well otherwise.

I was in not that long ago . unfortuantly i had an awful experience. the young girl whom was suppose to be taking care of me show up an hour late. then proceeded to give me a pedicure and manicure in 25 minutes. i was informed that she was the mananger and this is how i get treated from someone of that status? my return is questionable.
. To Lynn I have been going there since day one and will continue to go there because everyone that works there is good but as far as your "manger" comment there is no such thing there is a owner/manger and she doesn't even do nails and her name would be Cathy

I am laughing out loud at this...seriously you need to get a life...perhaps a job...you went to a very friendly salon and are you seriously that bothered by the girls eating at their stations?? if you got their 20$ pedicure and you are complaning about people being quiet and how it is a treat for you perhaps you should go to a quiet spa where you would pay for the ambiance and also quite a bit more....this is a great place to go people and please dont allow this whiner to sway you otherwise....if the girls were quiet and not nice then you would be complaining i have never gone to this salon and not gotten a hello how are you from everyone that works there....jeez people just really like to complain dont they???

the place is nice and karen did a great job but the only thing that i have to complain about is that they do not have all the up to date colors. the colors are boring and this salon needs to update them.

Thank you for your comment and more important thank you so much for coming in I really appreciate it. Spring Colors are on there way. However it seems the nail companies have very limited colors this season and that the oldies are still the goodies - thanks again.

For what it's worth: I've been a customer since they've opened, and I've also glanced around at other operations in the area. Pros, if you go to Cathy's: kid friendly environment, laid back, pizza place next door. Friendly owner, loud but hey I love my adopted Staten Island mama! And the girls are chatty and personal, and I am very guilty of getting them started and egging them on, in regards to the chitchat! So Cons: If you're looking for one of those quiet, hear-water-drip, spa type places then this is not your kind of salon. If, like me, you want to hang with the girls and get your necessaries done quickly and well and for reasonable, and feel like 'one of the girls', this is your kind of place:) There has been, like all smaller salons, personnel issues in the past. But those issues have certainly been resolved to my (and other regular clientele) satisfaction. If you need complex nail services/airbrush etc, again not your kind of place. She has limited number of nail techs cause she only has the best:) Love to my home away from home!
