President Obama signed the NDAA back in December. Two particular sections of the Act ignited a firestorm of controversy. Sections 1021 and 1022 allow the indefinite military detention of any person, including a U.S. citizen, without a trial. That applies to any person "who was part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners," or anyone who commits a "belligerent act" against the United States or its allies.
So now it's legal to to eject an American citizen from this country? And on whose say so? What if your neighbor claims you committed a "beligerant act" against the country. I don't understand how our rights as a citizen can be taken away without a trial. This is a travesty!

Wow. Would you rather the United States not be protected. Not me.
In light of past events this is needed to help protect our country.
You have the right to leave this country if you do not like it.
I could go on, but you should get the point.

You can leave anytime. I prefer a country where my rights are proteted whether or not you agree with my point of view. No trial, no hearing, they can just ship you off. And no chance to have a hearing? What the hell happened to our right to a trial of our peers? Innocent until proven guilty? The 14th amendment is out the window now isn't it? And the 6th amendment is out of the question isn't it since there's no witnesses? Great. We've become what we have always claimed to be against. The citizens have lost all rights and the government has become judge and jury. Great.

Whatever it takes to protect our country will be done it does not matter if you like it or not.
Once again I will tell you, you have the right to leave anytime you want to.
If you are not a threat to our great country you have nothing to worry about anyway. If you are a threat to our country I am glad they do whatever is needed.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
US author, diplomat, inventor, physicist, politician, & printer (1706 - 1790)

I suggest you study you history of The United States of America a little better. Ben Franklin and the founding fathers left a vast amount of literature about why they formed this country the way they did. You are more than welcome to leave. I've probably been here longer than you and I will defend my rights as long as I breathe.

Blah blah blah....We live in the now, not then. Times have changed and so have the threats to the USA. The USA will do whatever is needed.
If you do not understand that and want to moan about your rights in spite of current and past events, cry cry baby.
Put your big girl panties on and get with the program. This is 2012 not 1759.
You have a right to your opinion it does not mean anyone agrees with you.

You will repeat the mistakes of the past if you don't learn your history. You are what is wrong with the country right now.

For your information I made straight A's in history and graduated from college and I do need you to tell me to learn history.

Actually no, you are what is wrong right now.

Click, see that ? That is me shutting you down.

You are entitled to your opinion and I will disagree. Hope you become a victim of your opinion.

"I don't mind my home being searched without a warrant. I have nothing to hide."

Eject citizens from the US. Prevent persons here illegally from being deported. Hold American citizens indefinitely without charges.
Give captured Taliban terrorists constitutional protections including habeus corpus. Some people don't have a clue.

The fact is that too many people today don't care what our government does. To it's own citizens. They want to rise up over taxes but they could care less about their rights. It's disgusting.

Here are facts. The odds that you'll die to terrorism in America are 20,000,000:1.
You should be more afraid of sharks and lightning than terrorism.
If you were smart enough you would realize that you are being robbed for more than your rights (which are more important to any sane person but I'm guessing you're extremely materialistic and a good little consumer to your corporate masters so I will put it in perspective of money).
The taxation without representation that you learn about in your "history classes" is a farce. Our Founding Fathers weren't upset with the tax on tea and paper, they were upset with inflation tax.
The perpetual debt by our government to the Federal Reserve makes you pay interest on money that is already yours. After they take their flat percentage off the top they then print an influx of money and circulate it. That devalues every single dollar already in circulation because there's no real value added to the economy, just paper.
Think of a pie chart. No matter how many pieces you divide it into it is still the same amount at the end of the day.
