It's past time to stop this invasion of the U.S.

Well said Kathie! It is a national disgrace that in a post 9-11 world, our government has no regard for our border security or that we are indeed being invaded by foreigners. The US Constitution requires the president and Congress to protect this country from invasion. They are not doing that and so as a nation "of the people" local municipalities have every right to take matters in their own hands.

Unless illegal immigration is stopped, then this country will rapidly become a caste system of "haves" and "have nots." There won't be anything illegal anymore about employers firing American citizens to hire low wage foreigners. The middle class in this country will be wiped out. That is not the kind of country our founding forefathers envisioned and that's certainly not the kind of economy that made America a prosperous nation. All across America, our hospitals, and school systems are going bankrupt because of the influx of illegal aliens getting free services they are NOT entitled to. Our Social Security system is on the verge of bankruptcy and if all the illegal aliens are suddenly legalized (as Bush and Ted Kennedy want) then it will indeed collapse. The only solution will be a massive tax increase that Americans can't afford.

Farmers Branch TX, Riverside NJ, Hazelton PA should be role models for every municipality in the nation to follow. Who cares what he communist-founded ACLU thinks? This is our country, not a Bush dictatorship that answers to the corruption in Mexico City.

I urge everyone reading this board to call their Senators today and tell them to vote against the comprehensive immigration (amnesty) bill being pushed through the Senate. Any Senator who votes to reward illegal aliens does NOT deserve to be re-elected next year. Act now because this is scheduled for a vote on Monday night. I beg to differ, things WILL change. Our Speaker of the House will not be bullied into doing something she doesnt want to as you can already tell. She wont back down, and neither will we. If you dont like the way OUR country is then go back to hoochie-ville where you belong. No one wants you here anyway! Why would you stay somewhere you are NOT wanted? The main issue I have with illegal immigrants is that they do not pay taxes. If you live in this country you should have to support the infrastructure and help pay for the freedom and "luxury" we have here in the best country in the world. Do away with income tax and install federal sales tax. Even illegals buy stuff. Usually a lot more than me cause they get paid cash money!

I agree 100%. It takes action to bring about change. I am a member of FAIR, check them out at FAIRUS.ORG and I regularly call my representatives in Congress to express my oppostion to the illegal alien invasion taking place in our country. I would also like to take this opportunity to reiterate how our government has been hijacked by an elite plutocracy (from both parties) that almost totally disregard the wishes of the average American citizen in their mostly successful attempt to maintain the status quo: their own power and privilege. Why else do you think Ted Kennedy and George Bush would agree on anything, except than their opinion that the other one is an idiot? I say impeach who you can, vote the other bums out, and repeat the cycle until our leaders are doing the business of the American people.

Sorry..I am not going anywhere..I love here thank you...I pay taxes and lots of them actually, over 35% of my mid six fugure salary goes to taxes. I am on the City Council in Huntsville Alabama. In July, we are voting on several ordnances that address our Illegal Alien problem.
It is a city of 300,000 and we have an estimate of over 40,000 illegals. Almost doubled in 18 months.
We are watching Farmers Branch and several other small cities to see what we are going to have to deal with.
One of the mistakes and I'm only going to mention one, that Farmers Branch made was using the excuse that the problem was a Federal issue that they were being ignored by the Federal agencies that handled Illegals.
We are already canvasing these ordnances under a "Community Quality of Life" platform, which is widely recognized as under the communities jurisdiction, not a Federal issue.
Take note that we are building a new holding facility on the present County Jail grounds (Huntsville is the County Seat). This is to hold the Illegal detainees until ICE can take over. In August, our law enforcement has been instructed to pull in any Illegal picked up in a criminal investigation. And yes, this is perfectly legal.
The reason the City has decided to do this is because we are experiencing exactly what the statistics say we would with a higher than normal Illegal ratio.
For you Pro Illegals, I could care less what you think, or what you believe. This is going to happen and our City does have a lot of money and investors due to the large amount of Military Contractors (Missile Command and NASA).
For anyone else that may be interested, I'll give you some statistics that we have gathered over the last 18 months. We are living this, so again, I don't care what anyone believes, it's our duty to protect our own community, period.
In the last 18 months, we have had an increase in Illegals of over 20,000.
Crime has increased 28% and a LARGE proportion are committed by Illegals. This includes Murders, Rapes, Burglaries, Domestic Violence, Drug related crimes down to repeat offenders in traffic and social violations. 31% of of DUI's (and we hand out over 1700 a month) are Illegals, up from 18% eighteen months ago. Just to show why we tend to target Hispanic Illegals is that in the above statistics, we only had 160 crimes committed by all other ethnicities, combined in the same time frame. Sorry, but due to that, Hispanic Illegals are high priority.
Auto accidents and the cost of No fault insurance claims resulting from Illegal drivers have equally increased to 36%, up 21% in eighteen months.

The unemployment rate for our legal citizens in the $20-$45K two job families has risen 2.5%, up from 2.4% to 4.9% in the last 18 months.
Nice neighborhoods that 2 years ago had flower gardens and beautiful yards now have 4-10 vehicles parked in them. Families (We assume)of up to 15 people living in two bedroom homes that have consistent, 24X7 activities that have been draining our police department from the complaints. This are working class neighborhoods folks. We have had to ask the County Sheriff to help occasionally. We wont have to after we pass the new Budget as were going to increase the PD by 25%. Another way we are preparing to start detaining Illegals until ICE can get to them.
Property values have plummeted in all but the very wealthy neighborhoods, and even if people wanted to move away, they can't because their houses are now worth less than their mortgages.
As you would expect in a city that has a high ratio of criminals vs police, most parks are unsafe, even during the day in some areas. And yes, we have M-13 here.
People feel unsafe in the Mall parking lots and we have several calls a day about spiteful harassment in these parking lots. Mostly from young (underage) girls that actually get touched, and older people. We have yet had a killing over the young girls as fathers in this area are very protective of their daughters. It's only a matter of time and it'll touch and go if it does as it won't happen just once.
We have a breakout of a resistant strain of gonorrhea that just showed up. It's gotten so bad we've authorized emplacement of 30 STD testing facilities (free) and are on a campaign to get young people to use them. The most cases we discovered is in what group? You guessed, Hispanic Illegals. Speaking of free health facilities, there was two clinics that we give aid to that actually closed their doors in October and November of last year. No supplies because of more than expected walk ins. Guess again on this one.
Our schools are getting pounded. The teachers are getting weary and they are doing their best to teach with English being an obstacle. Also, they never know how many children will be in any class on any given day. Sometimes as many as ten extras that within a week don't show up, then 6-8 extra and they have to start over because of the language barrier. Out of all the Public Servants that are effected by this problem, the teachers, God Bless them, are the most besieged.

Again, I don't care if you believe this or not. We ARE going to do make changes as we feel it's urgent. It is OUR community and we are going to take it back.
If you haven't experienced any of this, I hope you never do. However, we have "Sister Cities" throughout the Southeast and almost all of them are starting to see what we have.
