Finally a judge who gets it! She's right. These girls will never ever get over this. And this perv deserves to spend many years in prison to think about that.

I don't think many judges give harsh enough sentences for this type of crime, but his time the judge got it right.
Although the judge forgot one thing...Amputate the richard!

Too bad they can't shoot him. That would take care of the little man.
Yes, now we get to house and feed him for the rest of his life...Yuck!

This is good, but I would also like to see the gang bangers of Minnespolis put up for a long time too.

They coddle all of the violen criminals, with lousy 3-5 year sentences for brutal crimes.

A scoutmaster in a troop in which I belonged many years ago gave us a five-inch cylinder as a gift. I wondered a long time just what we were to do with it, determining finally it was to hide things in a body oriface. What was he thinking?

When it came time for sentencing, though, his attorney, Assistant Public Defender Andrea George, conceded there was little to mitigate his crime. She noted that, unlike other child pornographers, at least Borromeo didn't distribute the photos he took.

She also said that as a child, he had been a victim of sexual and physical abuse and was scarred by the experience.

Sounds like an appeal based on ineffective counsel.

A male girl scout leader? The Catholic Church's problem was, repeat, was, that it had too many men who liked teen age boys.

I don't think so, when the client admitted to the rape.

I had the same question as I began to read the article. Isn't the GSA all about empowering girls through mentorship and sisterhood? I've got a problem with that, and I would never allow my daughter to belong to a troop that was led by a man.

In the United States there is a major Child Prostitute Ring that serves the Elite in New York and Washington comprising 300,000 to 500,000 children.

If a child disappears in the United States the chances are that this is where they will end up.

But catholic priests have been doing this for years...where is their 35 year sentence? The pope repeatedly covered-up the crimes...where is his life sentence?

Great book on justice: Discipline and Punish by Michel Foucoult. Justice in this country is out of control. The US is 5% of the world's population and yet has 25% of the world's prisoners.

He deserves this but I'm disturbed by the judge. She tells him that no matter how hard he prays, God won't ever, ever let the girls recover. Then she says that a crime of this "severity" is rarely seen. IS SHE A MORON? INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE MURDERED EVERYDAY! Raped AND murdered! At least this judge gave out a nice long sentence but I can't help think she has pe nis envy judging by her comments.

Zen I agree with you but isn't it interesting how SOMETIMES, discrimination is ok? Or being sexist is ok? It's a good example of how it's just a matter of weighing risk over benefit. It's just a matter of "common sense". That's the problem with our society these days. The common sense has been taken over by the politically correct crowd.

Yep, I was aware of my own unPCness as I typed that. I'm not alright with women leading puberty-age BSA troops either, but not to the same gut level that I am uncomfortable with male GSA leaders. You're spot on about discrimination not being an entirely bad thing. Common sense should rule every unique situation.

Well we all know here that the U.S. Constitution was replaced by the Patriot Act, so how are things there going without a Constitution?
