Brinkley needs to hire a cop with guts as a chief. A guy who grew up there was asked to apply by a couple of people, but he never did. He would have been hell on wheels for a few months to get things straight, but the mentality in Brinkley is to coddle the local trash and not step on toes.
*****Damn, am I happy to know there are other places out there dealing with the same bull we deal with here in Henderson County Texas. Same type of law enforcement, just a different address.

Unfortunately, unless he has broken the law, there's nothing you can do about it. The Mayor appointed him so only the Mayor can remove him from office.

BUT, if you can find some law he has broken, you would contact the Arkansas State Police. AND, you better present everything as FACTS and have evidence to back it up or they'll just laugh at you. Just saying...

I can see that some of you idiots need to learn how to spell and write a sentence! I also can tell that people do not like the Chief of Police, and I know why. A certain idiot who has no business being a police officer who has been around the area for a long time simply due to avoid other issue wants to raise hell, start crap, and become chief. Now that's exactly what Brinkley needs to do to really flush that little community down the toilet. I see comments from people who apparently went to school at Brinkley!

Too bad someone from the state or the FBI can't read this and realize the Brinkley police department needs to be cleaned up.

.....From top to bottom...

He really needs to go. The city council and mayor need to quit fighting long enough to get rid of him.The city has no respect for the cheif for many reasons. Every time I see him, he's being driven around by another officer. He really needs to go.

Did you think the Chief may be riding with a new officer to teach him the streets, talk, or just patrol together? George Bethell did the same thing over 20 years ago, and everyone thought it was fine. I had rather see a police chief in the car with one of his officers, than to be sitting on his butt all day in the office. He is a cop to you know, and part of his job is to be a cop as well as a chief of police.
I can see that the cut throat comments are a effort to get the chief removed, so they will appoint someone else chief. The only problem, is that they will NEED to hire from out of town, to get the loose cannons under control once Bill leaves. Who would replace Bill Geater?

Brinkley needs a young, proud, leader as a cheif. The city councle and the mayor would have to trust the guy and let him do the job with out getting in the middle.

If Michael Edwards is appointed Chief everyone can hang it up. If your not kin to him or paying him off you better have big locks and a gun to keep what things you own.

the chief can only do what the mayor Queen Bee lets him then the council has to put their two cents in and I can't really blame him for wanting to retire.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Capricorn

You're swayed by your emotions today, making you susceptible to other people's machinations. Are you putty in the hands of your beloved? Are you willing to do whatever, just to keep the peace? Watch out for the influence of another's black mood, or you'll soon start to feel just as miserable. Fortunately this strange mood won't last long.
