“Deval Patrick’s $91 million barge to nowhere, your tax dollars out to sea.”
The wind turbine groups highlighted a published report claiming that the state planned to purchase a new barge to plant wind turbines in Nantucket Sound. The proposal was abruptly abandoned last year. A plan was announced to spend 35 million in taxpayer funds to build the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal AKA an ocean wind turbine port for ocean wind turbine contractors.
Gov Patrick is so out of touch, he wants to spend $91 million of our money for a barge. He denies its for Cape Wind, even though the paperwork says otherwise.
The project won federal approval in April. Governor Patrick is the only candidate that supports it. The government-subsidized project would cost at least $2 billion and hike energy bills.
At one point, in a recent high profile trial it was revealed that Patrick used the code name of Sally Reynolds on emails he sent to his staff because he was advised not to use his own name for security reasons. The state will not be required to reveal a pseudonym Patrick uses in e-mail that was redacted from documents already turned over to the anti wind group, according to the agreement reached last year.
