Keep up the good work folks. Now if you could just find a way to keep them in there. But I'm sure they will straighten up this time. LOL

Shouldn't have come to this. If the cops would do more and the court system did more. But as usual they will get a slap and on the streets again.

The Cops can only do so much. After that it is up to the County Attorney, Commonwealth Attorney and the Judges.Remember this at election time. When you elect people who are leinient, then they will keep getting out.

The cops could do more if they would actually patrol instead of sitting at McDonald's for 2 or 3 hours talking about people at night. Every time I go in there of the night time, they're sitting back bad mouthing people. Half the people who work at McDonald's are on drugs. Do something while you're doing nothing. Check into it.

Well said Taxes, the law officers talk to decent people like they are morons and pretty much tell them to get lost. Is this the way to gain respect? I for one think all of these "peace keepers" are disgusting. They need continuing education often...

Folks your missing the point. The topic is not about the cops. Everyone makes it about the cops. Instead of spending money on A Library that looks like it could be for the Congress,a Justice center that would look great in New York and a Bridge that could swallow the licking river how about using that Government money to do what the politicains say we don't have enough of,Prisons, and guards. We have to turn them loose because we don't have enough room. I tell you what though, some people sure have a fine building to go to work in every day. We have the finest government buildings and schools and the rest is going to pot so to speak. Look where the money goes folks and look who pushes the agenda. Why don't we do something like vote them out of office. Nope, some put them right back in and then cry why things are the way they are. People that vote or don't vote are doing it to themselves. Thats where the blame lies.

Ah, I see your point, and to some extent, agree with you. But, it's a complicated situation. Here's why:

The more prisons we have, the more prisoners we'll have to take care of--which means more to feed, give medical services to, clothe, have round-the-clock heating for, have more water and sewer for, etc. The reason this is such a big problem is that these types of expenses are RECURRING expenses that will have to come out of tax money just the same. More taxes we don't need. The recurring expenses for a library, justice center, and bridge are much less than those for large prison populations, and these items do create jobs just the same, which puts some of the spent tax money back into the town's local economy. Then, there's also the quality of life issue: It's nice to have a town with an attractive library; a safe, new bridge; and some nice-looking buildings, which townsfolk can take pride in. A lot of folks in this forum have said that Falmouth doesn't have any nice things; but, local government seems to have listened to them and finally given them a few nice things.

See what I mean? Complicated.
