In your first paragraph you are trying to cover two centuries of struggles and strife of the people of those times. We have a constitution now, as you well know, and a lot of things were changed to protect this country and it's legal citizens. To go into two centuries of American history that you are trying to cover in a couple of sentences is not possible, as well as all the reasons those events occurred.

As for Native Americans - yes they did get screwed. The westward trek to settle the country was a time of war and horror for both Native Americans and pioneers. It is a fact that Native Americans fought each other, and at the same time fought the whites for their invasion of the West and the Black Hills. You did not live in those times, and neither did the rest of us. It's sad to say but true, that people did what they felt needed to be done. Any millions paid the price for it on all sides.

As for African Americans, most of them were sold out by their own tribal leaders for beads and baubles. Families were destroyed, many died in transit....and those who did not were in bondage. No one is proud of that, but their way of thinking was unlike ours today, and the reasons are way too many to list at this time.

Those Europeans who fought in our wars, many were immigrants, but they were loyal to America and wanted to be citizens and a majority did become such. Same during the Civil War when black regiments fought for their own freedom, and bravely, too!

That's the big picture in short sentences, but defining illegals today is quite different. What's going on in this country is the stealing across the border with no intention of being loyal to anyone but their own country... not wanting to really become citizens but wanting to make the money to send back to their native country. That is not all bad for many who are probably good people, but open borders are costing us, and so are the benefits that we tax payers pick up. Last I heard ---$100 billion dollars a year.

Those who steal across the fences are bringing with them drugs, guns and murderous intentions. They are infiltrating our jails and our cities with contraband, guns, drugs and illicit solicitation. That's the difference between African Americans, or American blacks as I prefer to call it. Black Americans are getting screwed out of jobs the more Obama gives amnesty to those who stole into our country and broke the laws. As a matter of fact the black caucus sent Obama a letter telling him that the unemployment rate for black Americans is 16.7%. With millions of white and other American citizens looking for work how is it you think that these illegals should take priority over black, white and other Americans who were born in this country and deserve to be considered first?

Obama's back door amnesty is a slap in the face to every tax paying legal American, whether natural born or naturalized. For the life of me, I can't understand black Americans voting for this man who basically has done nothing for them.

I agree. Charity does begin at home. You have nicely sanitized American history not only using short sentences, but in a few short paragraphs. But the fact remains that North America is not just “our” home, so narrowly defined, regardless of how we package it. G.W.
