I keep seeing these Last post wins threads all over the place. I'm new on here and just trying the waters. How do you win, and what do you win?

You don't really win anything, it's just fun if you're bored to keep it going. Sometimes you get to know people. :)

Yeah it looks like people enjoy themselves on these last post wins threads. I've clicked on a few of them and read a few posts, trying to get the feel of it. It's usually pretty late at night before I get a chance to get on and most time I just read without posting.

Well, it's nice meeting you, Miss GreyMustang. I guess I'll be the winner for a while.

Miss GreyMustang, looks like you and I got the market cornered on this thread! LOL

I'm getting ready to roll out of here in about an hour. This cup of coffee is helping wake me up and I'm taking the rest of the pot in a thermos. A buddy and I are going to do a little early morning fishing and hopefully we'll be having a fish fry for lunch.

Hope you have a real good day.

Miss GM, I'll bet your having yourself a catnap! We had a great morning out on the lake. Nothing's prettier than early morning mist laying over the water. You like to fish? We had some fun and got home and had a big fine meal. My buddy got into a bream bed and was bringing em in as fast as he could get his bait in the water, and some nice sized ones too. Bream's good eating. I didn't catch as many but my big fine walleye and 2 smaller bass had a lot more meat on em. I enjoy fishing but I don't go near as often as I'd like to.

Yes, I had a nice nap lol. And I love to fish! I am just not any good at it lol. We don't have Bream here, we have catfish (the best), bluegill and crappie. And bass. We haven't done a whole lot this weekend since my husband had to work.

There you are, Mrs. GM! I've been searching for you and this LPW all evening. Somehow it got off my tracker and I couldn't remember the name of the city. I read your last post on Sunday but I was in a hurry and meant to come back to it later, and then I couldn't find it! I knew Mustang was part of your id but I couldn't remember Grey. I kept googling my own name until finally it showed Dawson, and that led me here.

I didn't want you to think that I lost interest in posting with you when I found out you were married! I admit it did kinda surprise me and may have taken a little of the wind out of my sails, but I hope you won't mind being friends with me a single guy.

I'm really new at Topix and I usually just stay on the game threads and the LPWs. every now and then I'll put my opinion out on something. So, how have you been? That crappie you mentioned, that's the best tasting fish of all. They are hard to catch, though, or they are for me.

I do not mind that you are single, as long as you understand that I am happily married and I am not looking for anything else other than friends. I have never been to very many places, so for me, it's fascinating to type in a random zipcode on topix and see what other places are like. Most of them are full of gossip, but sometimes I score and find interesting things or people.

So anyway, what do you do? Do you have any kids?

Good evening, Mrs. GM. It's really good to hear someone say they are happily married! It helps people like me who are divorced to still have faith in marriage. I've been divorced almost 5 years and I've gotten used to it finally but it took me a long time. I have a son and a daughter. They both live with their mother. A little over 100 miles from me so I'm close enough where I can see them often and spend time with them. My son hopes to start college at the end of summer. He wanted his summer full of fun and a good break from the books. My daughter will be starting her junior year of high school. They are great kids, even if they are mine! LOL

I manage the service desk at our local Mid-South Farmers Co-op. I'm not sure if you have them where you live but there's a Co-op in just about every town in my region. I've been there right at 25 years, started out working the pumps back when we still offered full service. And I've worked my way up and I really love my job. I've got some great buddies I work with, never had a problem with any of them. And I enjoy working with the customers, I get to talk to alot of people every day.

Tell me a little about yourself?

So that's how you get around on Topix, by typing in zip codes? I wouldn't have thought of that. I click on Forums up at the top of the page, and then I usually just click on the city that's on the top of the list. If I can find any interesting thread, I read a little and maybe post something. You gotta be careful tho because theirs so much fighting on so many threads. I don't see any point in all of that.

I go into work at 7 and get off at 5. By the time I get home and have supper, and tend to things here at home, I like to get on here to unwind, but it's usually kinda late.

We need to liven this place up and get some more people to join us, don't we! Good night, hope to talk to you again tomorrow.

Hello there :)

As for me, I have been married for 8 years, and I have 2 kids. My son is 8 and my daughter is 4. They are heathens. lol. My husband works and I take care of the kids- though I am hoping that changes this fall when the kids go back to school. I live in a very small town and it's hard to find work, much less find a job that pays well, so by the time I get done paying for gas and babysitting, I'm not making any money.

I think we have Farmer's co-op places here... we have farmer's credit bureau, is that the same thing? Farming is a huge thing around here, so I'm sure there's something.

We are in the process of building a house. My inlaws live way out in the country, and they have 60 acres of ground and have given us 5. My husband is building it, it's going to take a long time before he's done since he's the only person working on it. I can't wait to be out there though. The town I live in has only 3,000 people, and it's quiet, but it's still town and the nosy neighbors are nearby and all that, so it will be nice to finally get away. And also my inlaws are elderly, so it will be better to be closer to them so we can take care of them when the time comes.

Anyway, as for this website, yes it's crazy. I don't post a whole lot of places because people tend to get stupid. I have checked under the Forums tab before I think, generally I just like to type in a random number and see where I wind up.

So, what do you do outside of work? Oh and what does In like flynn mean? I read the the other day that it was in reference to a tv show, but I since I don't watch much tv, I didn't know what it meant lol. Cartoons unfortunately dominate here, unless it's a Sunday and Once Upon a Time is on.

Hey and welcome, Last. Me and Mrs. GM are getting acquainted with each other. As you can see, we had the place all to ourselves for a while but we're glad to have you join us. The way these Last Post Wins threads go, the last poster is the "winner". Its a good way to meet people and have fun.

I hope you've had a good day, Mrs. GM. You got the hardest job in the world and the most important one, raising your kids. It sounds like you live in a nice place but I know what you mean about getting out into the country. I live 7 and a half miles from town, in the house where my parents lived and my grandparents too. I don't have a whole lot of land but what I got is pretty, with a little woods up on the hill behind the house. Its building up out here now but my closest neighbor is still a good half mile away. I like people and I'm known as a big talker but I love my privacy and after being with people all day, I love coming home and it being all quiet and peaceful out here.

I think "In like Flynn" was a tv show or maybe a movie. It seems to me the actor's last name was Coburn. But I read that the title actually referred to an older actor named Errol Flynn. He was in a lot of swashbuckling, sword fighting kind of movies, pirates and that sort of thing. And that's why it's called In Like Flynn. My twin brother gets told a lot that he looks like Errol Flynn. No, I'm just kidding! I don't have a twin. But my ex-wife used to tell me I looked like Errol Flynn.

I'm not a big tv watcher, or movies either. I like being outside. I ride my Rhino across the fields and I like to walk up in the woods. My 2 dogs keep me company. I got a small vegetable garden, got my fridge full of squash right now. I'm not too hot on cooking but I like growing things. I'm not a big reader either but I will read a book or two in the winter time. I fish, but you already know that. That's about me in a nutshell. LOL

Hey Flynn :D I had a good day today, we went to my son's baseball game tonight, it was a good time- they won this time! First time we've won this season. My son plays catcher, but last game got to be pitcher- I was so proud! He needs practice, but he didn't do too bad! I plan to let my daughter play t-ball next summer. I would like to put my daughter in tumbling or something, but everything good is too far away.
Anyway, as for tv, I don't watch much of it either. The kids watch cartoons all the time, and some of them are cute, but I never have been a big tv or movie watcher. I do like to read though, I read quite a bit. I read just about anything except for romance novels, I hate those.
Oh and I have a garden too! We planted tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber, watermelon, sweet peppers, broccoli, and strawberries. Oh and flowers, my daughter had to have some flowers, so we have some marigolds planted in the garden too lol. I wanted to do okra, but I didn't get around to planting the seeds in time.
What kind of dogs do you have? I hope to eventually get a Saint Bernard.
And I want a Rhino eventually, the best we've got is a 4 wheeler and a golf cart. The 4 wheeler is too complicated for me to remember how to use and the golf cart is too small, rather I am too tall to be comfortable in it.
Well, I am all over the place in conversation tonight lol. Your turn :) I need to go see what my kids are bickering about...

Hey there, Mrs. GM! I know that was an exciting game the other night! Congrats on your son's team getting their first win of the season. I remember lots of summer nights at the ball field watching my son play. Every now and then I still stop and walk around and talk to different ones. It can be a lot of fun to watch a game when you don't care which side wins. When its your own boy out there, it can be rough on the old nerves! My daughter never did get into sports. She was such a tomboy, I'd a sworn she would have but I think she was too independent to be good at team play. She's always been very head strong.

I sure am glad the weekend is here. I'm ready for some R&R and just talking it slow and easy. My dogs are plain old mixed mutts but they are the best dogs. I think Sugar might have some yellow lab in her. She's a big, pretty dog, and is a sweet dog. Blackie is a white stray. No, no, just kidding again. She's black all over. A buddy gave me Sugar but Blackie just wandered up. I'm pretty sure somebody dumped her out. People are bad about about dropping off dogs they don't want any more in front of a house out in the country, I guess they think we got the room for them and won't mind. I think its terrible and wish I could catch them in the act. Blackie looks just like an old junk yard dog, nothing pretty about her, but she's a good dog. She falls all over herself trying to please me. And there's a cat that hangs around the barn. It'll come to me every now and then. My daughter named her Liz after Elizabeth Taylor. A Saint Bernard is a great dog. I wouldn't trade my old mutts for anything but if I did have a choice, I'd love to have an Old English Sheepdog.

I'm going to have to hit the hay. My eyes feel like they got sand in them. Hope you've got a great weekend planned.

Good morning, I hope you got some sleep. I went to bed late and everyone decided to get up at 6am... I could use a couple more hours of sleep lol.
Are you going to get to see your kids this weekend? I hope you have a good Father's day and a good weekend.
I can't think of anything else to say, so have a good weekend and I hope you talk to you soon :)
