New Farmer, we need some more farmers around here. It is an easy job and anyone can do it. Why don't you try to buy some land, get some used machinery,a few bags of seed corn, fertilizer, spray, fuel and hope you can afford crop insurance. Then when you don't get a crop because of floods or drought you can hope you get enoough crop insurance to cover some of your costs, you won't be making any money but it is so much fun to have all these people talk about how much money you make and how easy it is.

Not easy, but when they are building building as big as football fields and buying machinery that so big it runs us off the road you see the money. Then if you really what an earful.

I am sick, sick, sick of all of these farmers tearing out all of the trees and sucking the water out of our rivers to feed their dam corn fields. No it is not easy or cheap but you are not going to tell us you are not making buckets of money that you are throwing away on big toys.

Yeah... Who needs big toys when you have to put in more than eight hours a day farming. Let's just use smaller equipment to make everyone happy knowing that it takes 2 to 3 times longer to get the work done.

Not every farmer has equipment that big. However I realize it is hard to meet them on the road but most of them try to get as far over as they can. I do agree that irrigation maybe should be cut back on. I know those farmers who use it think they should be able to continue but not the way the drought has been. As far as big toys, the machinery really isn't any different than someone who buys something they need for their work or business. I'm wondering what job you have that you feel free to judge everyone else.

I was told that by an old time farmer who raised livestock and truly worked the land. It's hard to find those kind anymore. Everyone row crops in ks. now very little livestock. There are only 2 dairy farms left in Brown County thanks to the govt. regulations and the hard work. One of them talks about quitting.

No, but about every farmer on this list does. But please remember, they're just all "poor" farmers.

OK, farmers around here are doing pretty good. As a matter of fact, take a drive by of the places which are lived in or owned by those farmers who on on this list, especially, those near the top of the list. Just look at what they drive and their equipment. Don't forget they have a lot of equipment stored in their sheds and off farm also. If they are make money hand over foot just in the crops alone, and actually buying land at over $14,000/acre, PLUS getting all of this money from the Federal Government,(which by the way, means you and me), maybe it's time the Feds cut this program to save a little bit of money and put it to use where it might do some more good.

Come on perople!!!! Who makes $1.5 mill over 15 years among those of us who read this stuff. And that's not made from hard work, that's made from the damn government, who by the way, these farmers feel owe them this money.

This all must be why Sickel had the cash on hand to get his bridge and road made, at our expense, for his new road and bridge for the tiddy sum of over $1.2 mill bucks. Damn, I bet we all had that kind of pull!!!

That should have been illegal, but, oh, wait... he's one of them who makes it legal todostuff like this, so I guess it's OK either way.
