Why are many out of county car and truck owners not forced to change to Richardson County # 19 if
they live in this county? Need to pay due taxes to our county not those in state of Missouri or out of county areas? Live here pay here.

If you know for a fact that they live here and have a valid address for them and know for a fact their name is on that title and insurance call either the FCPD, RCSD or NSP you can find any one of these numbers in the phone book or on the internet. Maybe they aren't on the radar and if they are maybe that agency just needs a little push.

That is fine to be mad but, do they also have a home in missouri? If so they can register them there. It is cheaper to register in missouri than Nebraska.

What about those $40k SUVs that are registered as FARM trucks? Ever notice that those who do that are the more wealthier people around who can afford paying taxed like they should?

Just because they have a home in Missouri doesn't mean they can register over there you have to actually live the majority of your time there.

Why don't you tell me how much cheaper it is to license a vehicle as a farm vehicle, as opposed to a commercial vehicle. I know the difference. Obviously you do not.

But can anyone else claim it on our taxes or take it as a business vehicle. I'm sure you don't want others to know all the advantages, then you couldn't cry poor farmer every time the wind blows!

I grew up on a farm and know how hard WAS to make a living in the past. Now there is too much government help TO the wrong BIG farmers or the
corporations. "True farmers" with families do not get the same government checks for sure. I drive an over 10 year car and could not afford those fancy pretty pickups many farmers drive and trade off ever couple years. Appreciate the farmers' hard toil. The over $150,000 oro more modern
machinery that uses the public highway and gravel roads and are not taxed for use of those roads. My house and car not worth even one of those priced pieces of machinery. Farming now is a business not a family way of life.

You are so right. But the farm families that flaunt their homes that should be in a magazine and the vehicles that the rest of us only dream about, and trade every year are what people see, not you in your 10 year old car. Tell me what the difference is between a big farm and a small farm, cause out where I live a certain family doesn't own that much land but has not problem living good? I hope things go well for you, not many family farms around.

"You then" have a point about size of a farm. I
truly hate to see the "small family farm" being beat out by bigger farmers or corporations. Most
small farmers are 2nd or 3rd generation on a
family farm which is good. But like you noted some smaller farmers live well and much better than a lot of ciy workers. So, I believe if have a
vehichle on the public roads should pay proper taxes like everyone else.

In our family we have farmed the 260 acres for over a century ,to get what we need to survive we must now become a corporation or we will have to sell no other choice. I just don't understand.

Good grief people! You seriously need to stop with the pity party! I do not agree with "big" farmers getting benefits from the government either and I also do not agree with people that judge others because they have more than you do! It's life. Are you also mad at the bankers who have more money or is that ok because they don't have big machinery they drive on the roads. C'mon if you truly are from a farm family then you know that farmers work thier butts off no matter how much or little they have. Sorry you don't have as much as some but some people don't even have a 10 year old vehicle - be greatful! And I can't remember the last time that I saw a bunch of farmers out crusing the highways in the tractor for the fun of it. They do pay taxes and deserve the right to drive on the roads this is just petty! I would rather drive behind a slow farmer making a an honest living then pass the people who are on welfare and somehow still manage to find the money to get drugs and alcohol and then they are stupis enough to drive - there is a true tragedy!

Yeah, Right - Farmers spend a whole month putting their crop in the ground and a whole month taking their crop out of the ground. The rest of the year they hold down a job that someone in need could have. Course, they do have to file all that paper work for their Govt welfare checks.

Farmers suck, they add less to the local economy than the "REAL" everyday hard working slob.

You're a f'n moron.......Farmers work harder and more hours in one year, than you will in ten yrs. Planting starts in April and goes into July. Then fertilizing/spraying for weeds needs to be done. Then if you have livestock mowing , raking, baling.etc. Then Harvest, depending on the summer, can take up to 3 months. Plus the livestock needs tending to daily, that's 365 days a year. You are nothing but a whiny ass piece of shit. Poor baby. I hope you f'n starve in the next year. Oh,yeah , those groceries in the cupboard, were made from products grown by a farmer, same as the meat you eat, dillhole. The only thing you grow, is probably what you're smoking. Put down that crack pipe and go back to your rock.
You actually live up to your posting name.

I suggest all modes of farm machinery be taxed as they do cause wrecks when on the public highways.

Farm machinery is taxed, What makes you think it isn't? And the majority of wrecks involving equipment on Public roads is due to other people not paying attention.

How is it a farm of say 280 acres in area pays less than one small house? The tax tables are not fair or would not be separate. Do they pay ROAD TAX? I see more farmers in new pickups than city
people in older cars as a rule.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aries

Someone wants to go their own way today and they won't care whose feathers they ruffle in the process. It's a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Cancer, so let them get on with it. The last thing you should do now is to hang on to their coat-tails or do anything else that will make them feel restricted. Make it plain that you've got your own fish to fry, thank you very much. And try not to let it stop you enjoying yourself. Have a great night!
