I think this is a great idea, anything we can do to help the wildlife of the Great Basin have places to survive and thrive is a wonderful thing and the funds well spent.
A place for the folks that like to birdwatch can only bring new money into the area. Promote a new venue for the tourists and families in the area to enjoy.

I am a bird watcher and I plan all my vacations around good bird watching areas. I usually camp when I travel and spend my money in the local restaurants and stores while I'm there. There are millions of people who travel specifically for birding and states like Texas and Arizona bring in millions of $$$ on this industry. I'm not into gambling, so this gives me and other birders a reason to make Nevada a future destination.
