Someone burned down my grandparents home on Saturday night

Someone burned down my grandparents home on Teaberry Road on July 4th. The home was vacant, but the home was a total loss by the time the fire dept responded.

Who would do such a thing?

how do u know that someone burned it? it coulda been an electrical fire? i doubt the fire marshal has had time to investigate it already. i am sorry to hear about it tho!

There is no electricty to the house. It has been vacant for over 5 years. The windows were boarded up and a padlock put on the door. The house had been broken into last summer when I stopped by to check on it.

I know that when my friend passed away, we would go by and ck on her home. At one point,we found evidence of someone living in the home. Our concern was that in an effort to stay warm or to cook something to eat, they would have to start a fire...and the possibility of it burning down was inevitable.
Is it possible that since the house was empty, that someone had once again broken into the house and was staying there? If it is, the fire may not have been intentional.

i to was just sick when i heard about the fire on teaberry that was my aunt and uncles house i have alot of good memories in that house they were wonderful people.hope they find out what h appened'

This house is on Teaberry Road about 2 miles from Ronceverte.

If you hear anything, please contact the fire department. They are doing an arson investigation.

I am heartbroken over this bad news. The house belonged to my aunt and uncle and I spent a lot of happy times there when I was a teenager. I hope it is found out just what happened to cause it to burn and bring closure to the family. They need to know just exactly what happened.

It was discovered that the house was burning on Saturday Night of July 4th, 2009...it had already been in such a state of burning that the fire department could do nothing but try to prevent anything else from catching fire. Consequently it was totally destroyed. There were no utilities in service at the house.....it had been boarded and padlocked. Although, during a visit to check on it, it had been broken into....all of the doors had been broken open and some of the windows at the back had been broken out. Whoever did this will be caught......I happen to have their flashlight that was left during their visit...to confirm........it is a red three battery maglight. The West Virginia fire marshall at Charleston has an ongoing investigation and it is hoped the culprits will be arrested soon.
