every body is living in a dream world we have it made compared to larger cities,no one is ever going to be happy with whatever outcome we get .the cops are just like regular people everyone thinks they are super heroes ,.wake up their not!!!!!everyone cries about cleaning up this town its the same anywhere in texas even worse in some places ,go hang out in the valley in a border town ,now those people shoould be crying,we have it made here . we might be going from bad to worse here in a couple of months ,and all the drug raids wont help ,because there is always someone dying to take someones place .most of the drugs in this town come from a bundch of small timers, the sheriff and the future sheriff wont have any thing to do with them their dealings are above this town wake up and smell the coffee.

I agree, dream world. Where the family is great. The job is perfect. The bills are paid on time. No crime, no drugs, no fights, no nothing. In the valley I believe they are averaging one murder per day, the same for San Antonio, Houston and Dallas. Corpus is getting there. People we have it made compaired to most places.

And why not hire Imelda, is she a threat to you? She's educated but of course people like you don't want to feel threatened by the qualifications of others. She's also a smart and attractive lady that knows how to handle herself. I bet you wish you could be like her. You envious
son or daughter of a motherless goat. Stop acting like the people at the Juvenile Probation Department always feeling threatened by what the woman could do or her intelligence. Lay off of the woman once in for all!

Takes more then one person to fix the problems. First of all, need to know what's broken before it can be fixed! For a start, a new Sheriff being elected!(1)Drug Use,(2)Drug Sells. The addicts need medical assistance, counseling, incarceration, etc. The Pusher, no additions, no sells, no business. No more need for his services. No more crimes being committed to get money to buy drugs. The core of this problem is drug us, take care of drug use and the next two problems are solved. To solve these problems "drug use and drug sales" is prevention.

We hope that Rey will be a better Sheriff than the person he beat at the election. Anything would be better than that group of people. No one was really doing their job but sure enjoyed the benefits. What happened to the people who monitored the Sheriff's spending on County monies? the late Mr. Taylor of the Paisano Press printed alot of the wrongful goings on in the county. The Falfurrias Facts just prints a little of the corrupt things that happen but don't follow up on the stories. Inquiring minds need to know what action is being taken. At present we have to deal with a corrupt Police Dept. where a hundred pounds of weed just mysteriously disappeared. Nobody has been caught. What happened to having an arrest made by the end of the week? The weed is probably already smoked or someone just had a load of money profited from it. Only in Falfungus!!

He should take a page out of the book of Sheriff ERASMO "KiKO" ALARCON Jr (JIM HOGG CO.) When Kiko took over as sheriff in jan 1st 2001 after many years of Ybanez being sheriff he did this. Shortly after being sworn in after 12am all deputies hit the road in teams in went off into different sections of the county and town of hebbronville, and brought in every last person that thought they could still get away with what ever they wanted. The jail was full that night, True story.

What were they charged with? "Intent to think they could get away with whatever they wanted? "

Mostly Disorderly Conduct, PI, DWI. You see when gilbert was the sheriff he let alot of people off the hook. They were not used to having a new sheriff. Example, Someone was speeding they got pulled over. They mouthed off to the deputy, and ended up in jail. And Ybanez could not let them go in the morning. I guess you were trying to be Smarty pants with your Post.

nothing is going to change in fal everyone thinks that the new sherriff is going to be a miricle worker .whatever they are in charge of the county the fal PD is still going to be in charge of the city. the mnain crimes that the sherriffs dept works on are illegals and busting speeders down south and during that they pop someone slipping up with weed or something, not much will change around here.

I don't think there will be no change, just look at him face to face,(really look at him) and you tell me if this man is Sheriff material. He's going to be controlled by his workers, his kids and his ex. First of all he isn't going to change anything, his workers are the same ones that work at the courthouse, they're just being moved around, some change!! That's politics, never giving new people a change to get a job, always the same people. and before you all say that I'm mad because I didn't get a job there, no I'm toooo old to work, love my retirement

Do people realize that the Sheriff, Chief Deputy and office personnel are not going to be in the office for the month of Dec. They are all taking their vacation time. My question is WHO is goin to be left in charge? Are we the citizens of Brooks County not going to have a Sheriff to answer to till the new one comes in? Who is goin to be responsible if anything happens? I would like to know! Is it also true they are not leaving anything (units, computers and files) to the new Sheriff? Could they be so hateful, irresponsible and such sore loosers that they would do such a thing. So much for their 12yrs of service and more like 12yrs of childishness! All I can say is people who do things like that are not MEN but children who don't play fair. Yea, I hope Rey does make a change because for the last 12yrs we the citizens have had a dept that has acted the age of their shoe size. Then they wondered why people voted for the other guy? Honestly, do they blame us! No respect, no honesty, no leadership, no help to those that needed it and no consideration for their own! The countdown has begun 33 days to go!

they have to leave units and computors, but in what shape will they be in? Also the seizure fund will be dried out. Ruben Longoria dried it out for Balde, and Ramiro did the same to Ruben I guess thats the way it goes. I hope Rey DOES make a change !
