Unfortunately, some people, like this "friend" of yours, think that they can turn a woman straight by raping them (allegedly, of course), it happens all too frequently.

How about because maybe she wanted to enjoy a movie and dinner with a friend? How about because maybe she thought the guy would respect her as a friend, a woman, and a lesbian? How about because maybe she felt safe because she had been upfront and truthful? Using your logic... why would a straight guy be going to dinner and a movie with a lesbian??? See how silly that sounds!! |

2 I am, however, shocked at her behavior. I do not have much sympathy for her, and I understand that might make me sound harsh or cold-hearted. But a woman doesn't go to a bar by herself. She doesn't agree to go out with a person she's known for only a few minutes. She doesn't invite that person into her home. She doesn't inebriate herself and put herself in a compromised position. If he did rape her, then he is wrong for having done so - but I feel she is equally wrong for opening the door. |

Whoa, the comment to which I was replying disappeared. :( The person to whom I was replying had made a comment about the person being a lesbian and therefore having no reason to go to dinner and a movie with a straight man.

I want to take you to task on a few issues here if for no other reason than clarification. -She was going to the bar to MEET him for a drink. Therefore, she would not have been at the bar alone. Why can't a woman go to a bar alone? Can't a woman just stop into a bar for a cold beer if she feels so inclined?? -Where did you get that she knew him for "a few minutes"? Nothing is stated about the length of their initial encounter. -Where did you get that she was inebriated? Nothing is mentioned about intoxication and the alleged rape took place in her home prior to their planned evening outing. I will agree with you that her inviting him to her home was a very, very poor idea. Perhaps if she had arranged a more neutral and public place we would not even be reading this story. |

I tend to agree w/Askew Obsfucation and feel as well that at most it was a poor idea. But no means no in every language. A woman should never be touched no matter where she is, regardless of what she is wearing or even if she's inebriated or not. Even if a woman is being suggestive, it in turn does not give anyone the right to touch her if she does not want to be touched in any way, shape or form. For those of us who have been raped, we understand all this.
Unfortunately, there does exist those nasty people, mainly women who cry rape, unjustly and this is what casts doubt. This person is worse than the rapists. In the interest of Justice, I do hope that they can establish the truth. If he did commit this act of rape, I can only hope that when he arrives at prison, the real form of Justice will be served. In my perfect world, just as many will defend the rapist by saying such things as,"Well, look how she was dressed, she deserved it" I'll be wishing I was a fly on the wall when HE says, "Well, look at you lookin' all good in that towel. C'mon boy." I ask; Does he deserve to be raped because he was only wearing a towel and in the wrong place at the wrong time? |

1 No actually it makes you sound paranoid and judgmental. There's nothing wrong with ANYONE male or female going to a bar alone. From the story, it sounds as though she talked for far more than a few minutes at the bar, giving her phone number to him as a friend is not uncommon. Missed circumstances might indeed allow for someone to drop by an apartment to pick her up with plans of going directly out, or a quick drink to be hospitable while someone waits while she finishes a task(such as getting ready) isn't out of line, she felt as though she could trust the guy. Even with an error in judgment under NO condition at ANY time should a victim be blamed because of the criminal actions of another. |

1 Well, I can see someone judged what you wrote, most likely a person who's never been dominated by another. Quite possibly they may need this to grow some, lol or rather to gain some real empathy. No means no-no matter what! And I agree with you! |

1 Actually it's the trolls. There are a few who are too cowardly to even come in like yourself, they hide behind proxy servers claiming to be from many far off places like France... you learn to just ignore them like the neighbors chihuahua, even if they were to run into someone in person one stamp and they pee down their leg and run away with their tail tucked under them. |

I quickly gave you an agreed and brilliant. I agreed totally with what you said. Whoever judged that like they did(steve?) is cookoo for cocoapuffs. |

Jackson is to me, and I have known him for a long time, a alright guy. I dont know him to well but he has always seemed very cool. I dont know if he did this or not but lets wait till all the details come out to judge him. I would really hope he wouldnt do this. Very sad for them both.

I agree. I've been on the net for 6+ yrs(and you can find me all over) and on Topix for almost that long. One thing I've learned is that people take advantage of anonymity, living like cowards. I often say that they just love to "write checks their asses can't cash." But if the truth were known, I have to wonder how a spineless/gutless troll is ever able to look himself/herself in the mirror? Wait...I'll answer that myself; they don't. They've long held personal disgust when they look into their own eyes thus the need to project it onto others. Am I close to right? |

1 Did you READ the article????!!!! The woman is a lesbian!!! She doesn't want ANY man in her bed, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, etc.... Perhaps here was a woman who didn't "flock" to him and was an assault to his ego. |

And your comment has what to do with this article???? btw, if she said, "NO" then it's rape. Are you suggesting that the man has such low self-impulse control that his actions are justified??? |
