Anyone notice their [poor] driving habits? What can we do about this? The dispachers do not seem to [know how to] control the drivers. The Police will not do much either. Does anyone have any ideas or people we can contact that will do the right thing to remove these poor drivers and keep our children and pedestrians and us safe drivers safe? Many thanks.

Everyday we notice those road busters driving like jackasses. We see these drivers drinking from a mug with one hand on the wheel while the some children are standing up in their seats or faceing the rear of the bus all while the bus is moving!Unsafe school bus drivers ought to be fined a whole lot and serve community services along the very roads they use to unsafely transport our children.Maybe they will notice the saftety issues we see after about 200 hours of roadside commnunity service.Good topic zigzag.Keep it going. Thanks

Yep,still keep seeing those poor drivers driving our children to and fro school.Semi stops kids faceing the rear of the bus standing up and the driver just speeds up and slows the bus down for a stop sign just a few yards away from the intersections.Accelerating downhill is very frightening to see. These poor drivers also like to pump the throttle as they accelerate,What is that all about? The drivers look so sad and unhappy all the time. What is their problem I wonder.Tax payers pay the repairs on theses busse that get ...."beat on" as we use to say,and tax payers pay the bill that that repairs the roads in which these poor drivers surely contribute pounding our streets with their Jack rabbit take offs and stops,The children are at risk.

School busses go down the main street of of out little neighborhood IN EXCESS OF 50 MILES AN HOUR after they've delivered the kids to school. They will pull out in front of you at intersections. Lowlifes are hired as bus drivers.

I understand some School Bus drivers are Lowlifes . I mean to say , practicing safe driving skills would be such a greatway to show and improve their new way of life , like showing they are happy to have a job .

I'm a s.b. driver. My job is not to babysit. You can see the kids standing up. I need to keep my eyes on the road. I can tell a kid (literally) 100 times to sit down. They don't listen. I can write them up it doesn't help. Their are bad drivers but there are also good ones. Its not easy driving a bus load of kids. There are alot of distractions. But all the driving laws should be obeyed. Zig zag, go light another one up. And maybe you should think about getting a job yourself and moving out of your mothers basement.:)

ZZ, maybe they are TAUGHT to drive like that at school bus driving school Something like the old Bob Newhart routine for city bus drivers, where they are taught bad driving manners. His routine went something like: (SOUND OF BUS PULLING AWAY FAST) "Very good, Mr. Smith. The passenger runnnig toward the bus just got to the door. You closed it. And sped away. Very good." ---------- So transferring that routine to school bus driver school: "Er, Mr. Smith, drive faster, the kids are still in their seats. Ah...Good! Three kids just fell into the aisle." "Okay, the green light about 100 feet ahead just turned red. That's it, Mr. Smith. Stop on the gas. And honk your horn. Stay on the horn. Good! Excellent. At least four cars rear-ended each other in the intersection that you ran through."

I did move out of Mothers in 1979 and have been in the Navy 24 years . Seems you have jumped into a bit of anger ? If you are driving professionaly and of course you are confident to drive slow and safe ... the remark(s) that are entered into your reply seems out of character to me . I have a job , a pension , retirement plan and a family of 4 . Now back to the Topic .... Poor School Bus drivers ought to be removed on the spot .

The Poor school bus drivers may just get at least a smile from it if they can remember it and all of us that watch these poor schoolbus driver fly by , may just happen see a smile on their faces [for a change]. We saw 2 School Bus drivers make semi-stops today by the way . They looked like they were in a hurry to . Yes there were children aboard . They both[looked] back at us as we were walking . I suppose because we were looking at them in a mean way , they felt it was important they return the look ... cough ,, while taking the eyes off the road . ZigZag

yEA i WORK FOR SCHOOLS AND THE KIDS COME IN WITH A STORY DAILY ABOUT THE NEW DRIVER THEY HAD TODAY! i THOUGHT GETTING A DRIVEN JOB WITH KIDS WOULD BE HARD. NOT JUST SOME DRUNK AND DRUGGIE JOB. Well this passed year I heard about three to four issuse with are buses and on the news you hear all round.Yea we all know you have to watch the other ppl driven too. But come on when I was young they used to write me up on the bus to I had to take the citiy bus to school for the rest of that year. But I lost two ppl to bus accidents one boy named charles Johnson was hanging out the window when the bus pulled off from a bus stop and he hit his head on a tree and died in the back of the bus. This other girl died after the bus driver came to a stop the young lady { amanda] Got onto the bus and would not get off then when she wanted to get off the bus driver would not let her so she went out the back door. as she was opening the back door the driver took off and she fell out and died right on the spot...There has to be somebody that we can pay to ride on the buses and be extra eyes and ears..But the parents need to step up also. Show the kids whats right and what is wrong. Myabe if you have a problem child on the bus tell momther /father to ride the bus one day to see how it really is.

I read about all the [accidents] School Bus tragedy you had mentioned . You added "Parents need to step up also." True Fact . Also you mentioned "There has to be somebody that we can pay to ride on the buses and be extra eyes and ears." Good idea . I believe a monitoring system would be proposed before that one . Monitoring system could and would track speeds and accellerations and stopping activity and of course in Sync with G.P.S. and may as well throw in a Camera or two . See what happens next time we vote and see if any of our candidates bring up Safety . Thats where we must start to get the monitoring system project going ..... too much money . More people need to make the call into the Disaptchers , Safe Commuinity Officers , Board of Education . Keep calling in every incident and concern that we "know" endangers our children and others . Poor School Bus Drivers ought to be removed immediately . Also , these Poor School Bus Drivers that drive aggressive are tearing up our roads and > wearing out the Buses prematurely per say : Brake systems , Tires , Steering components etc.. Who pays for that "unneccessary" servicing ... Taxpayers . In this Posted Comment we have exposed Facts of Poor School Bus Drivers whom drive our children in such a manner that makes many of us angry and worried eveyday . We all must make the call in to those departments mentioned . Everyday every time .

Consistantly Report poor School Bus Drivers activity to , - Your Precinct - - Safe Community Officers - - Board of Education - - School Bus Dispactures>Supervisor only {Good Luck}- - School Bus Company {Good Luck}- - The {Good Luck} contacts fail to do their job . Also they always want exact location of actions witnessed . Just tell them "Take a look around anywhere anyplace" see if it helps . They seem to think these poor School Bus Drivers are doing a great job . Perhaps it is Deja Vu hitting them in the brain and their brain has a hard time deciding the difference between the current day and the 'day' they trained these drivers ... which is probably the only day these Poor School Bus Driver drove safely .

Low Lifes drive busses? I have driven a school bus for 20 years in good weather and bad and terrible. Never had a ticket. All those kids are in my care. They like me and I like them. yes sometimes they might stand and they are told to "Sit Down Now". But most important is that we are watching the road. It is dangerous everytime we look up into the mirror to keep them in line. This job has a lot of responsability and yes sometimes stress. Maybe that is why some of the drivers look sad. Not all of us get paid very well either. I myself don't get any benefits, we didn't get a raise in the past 3 years. but somebody needs to get these kids to school and home safe. Low Life indeed. You should be ashamed of your selves.

If the sad faces these [Poor Driving] School Bus Drivers have are from supervising our children they , could seek help and support . Children like to see happy faces especialy from adults . 1 smile helps 10 other poeople smile as the saying goes .... sure would help if the stressed [Poor Driving] School Bus Drivers would support each other . However , School Bus Drivers are trained to transport our children safely at all times . Smiles are beautiful and our children are beautiful . School Bus Drivers : Please slow down , enjoy the drive .
