Actually, I think LTR's point is that we ought to start going against Ovard himself instead of just causing him grief about the Sandoval appointment. LTR makes a good point: Ovard is just another dishonest good old boy such as have wrecked the Republican party to date.

LTR has made no point in any post made on this board except that (s)he believes that Sandoval (irrespective of the copious evidence against him) is something better than he is.
Ovard is not necessarily dishonest, but his action has been and is incompetent. It is time for him to step aside.

I just now stumbled across this thread while doing research on the 380th. I find myself involved with my child and grand-child in a divorce/custody case in Judge Wooten's court. She seems a very pleasant person who would make a nice neighbor. The only thing I know about former judge Sandoval or Collin County courts is what I have read in this forum.
Let me just say that I am investigating Judge Wooten's campaign contributors to confirm my suspicions that Justice Jefferson has alluded to in this forum.
Clearly the process, in my child's case, is being prolonged and perpetuated in favor of the opposing attorney. This would explain his arrogant smugness and inexplicable ability to get away with ignoring every order of this court with impunity.
It would appear "the more things change, the more they stay the same." At least in the courts.
I would welcome any and all reasonable comments.

I intentionally did not mention the opposing counsel's name, nor am I accusing the Judge of any overt impropriety. Things simply don't "add up" and my suspicions have now been verbally confirmed by a reliable source. I will receive documented confirmation next week, thanks to "open records", not that it makes any practical difference.

Your barely veiled accusations aside, I know for a fact that Judge Wooten is extremely honest about her campaign and her court. She has, in fact, returned or not accepted contributions from several fronts and recused herself from cases that would have shown any appearance of impropriety.

If your "reliable source" has any information that would show any illegal or injudicious activity, it is incumbant upon them to present it openly to the Judicial Ethics Commission. Otherwise, they need to shut up.

Whoa! Seems I hit a nerve with a friend. Maybe a deep breath and another reading of what was actually written might be in order. I am simply attempting to make some sense of the facts I have been handed.
My guess is that Justice Jefferson's observations have some merit. I, of course,am the one with the facts of the matter at hand.
The only mention of illegal activity has been by someone other than myself and "source".
However, I will "shut up", as requested. I certainly don't need any additional diffulties with this situation.

If I recall correctly, he tried to run for DA before he took the bench and was defeated then too. Maybe, he should take the very loud hint and go away.

Now that you've gone through more than one judge and still had results that you deem to me unfavorable, it might be time to look at yourself and figure out what YOU are doing wrong rather than pissing and moaning about the judge. Is your lawyer worthless? Are you worthless? Maybe you refuse to play by the rules because you don’t like them and then you get bent out of shape when you lose due to your stubborn refusal to play by the rules.

This does bring up a good point, though. It’s about time for me to check on all our stories. This guy took his case before the honorable Judge Wooten and was shot down. Anyone else? Has the good judge ridden in on her white horse to save anyone’s day?

Maybe you should hire an attorney who actually knows the law. You say that you went back regarding still being ordered to pay child support - obviously you were trying to modify after a divorce. If you were adjudicated the father at that time, Texas law views you as the father forever, without respect to any DNA tests. It sounds like Judge Wooten did exactly what the law required her to do. If you believed the child(ren) had been fathered by someone else, you needed to make that case when the child was born, not afterward. If you want the law changed, talk to your congress and don't expect ANY judge to violate the laws they were sworn to uphold.
