I think you are attempting to make it racist by putting emphasis on a couple of words you're taking out of context.

Thompson calling another "inept, naive and arrogant"?

This comment from the same man that felt he could enter the 2008 presidential election whenever he felt like it and the population would be his personal lapdog? The same man whose campaign fizzled like some cheap smokebomb bought at a novelty store?

Who's really "inept, naive and arrogant", Fred?

Though Thompson himself may well be a racist....his comments don't show that...they are, however indicative of his ignorance...and ignorance and racism often go hand-in-hand.

I have to agree with TWTL. If there were a trial and the evidence provided here were all the evidence in the case, the jury could not convict Mr. Thompson as a racist.
Let me ask this, however, wouldn't it be fair to say that some of the comments in this thread are evidence of bigotry that is every bit as hateful and malicious as that of a racist? Is bigotry against an affiliation any less bigotted than bigotry against a race?

America has the right to disagree with any opinion.. it's done not a racist issue but by their own opinion..

blacks and liberal want to make everything racist because we have a black-white man in the house..

I am glad, very happy, the democrats has decide to go after bush for his war crimes... wait i mean their war crimes..
congress voted for war in Iraq
congress approve for the torture treatment of the prisoner.
certain congress leader knew but turn their back on the issue and went after bush as it was his war not theirs

America is so stupid when it come to history of their own government.. they do not understand the function of the government.

a friend of mine invited me to a council meeting. i sat there and watch it. after the meeting we went for coffee. he explain it to me council is congress and the mayor is like the president and the borough lawery is like the courts

who done all the talking.. answer council/congress done all the talking.
who past the approve of paying the bills answer council/congress
who approve the new law... answer council/congress
how much did the mayor done... answer two thing the mayor/ President done !!!! First it was pledge alliance to the flag and saying good nite when it was his turn to speak at the end of the meeting

As my friend said this is the way. Itís done on the federal level.. Council/congress can support the mayor/President or we can go against him even if he is part of our party member..

Itís the best if council/congress work together for the benefit of the town or country..

Itís time to put the blame on people who allow this crap to go on and started a lot of it themselves

Wake up America congress is your real enemy..

When the pentagon released the pictures and get the muslin in an uproar and they start killing our guys in the military.. Just remember you sat back and did nothing to stop congress madness. You sat back and rally behind the hater of bush to get even if cost our military lives .. Who will you out against the republican and bush when it being done right now under the push of the democrats and the liberals..

as a democrat i can not support this action of congress..

You think you hit nerves? That's funny!

You tried to stir up some controversy where there was none and you bombed. It was a dud!

Nothing racist about "banana republic" whatsoever. The only thing racial on this thread is your attempt to turn a term that means "corrupt dictatorship" into a racial slur by trying to bait people into tying the word banana to monkey and implying that liberals would infer the same racial slur that ONLY YOU injected into the "quotes." YOU are the only one who "imagined" the potential for controversy where none existed. Nobody else. Banana republic has nothing to do with race.

Maybe the question should be:

If a person tries to inject race into the word "banana" does that make THEM a racist?

Messiah Hussein Obama is most definitely inept and arrogant. Naive is debatable. When you think that 100% of Americans should agree with you, then it's no wonder the "right wing boogeyman" scares you. Well, when you intentionally want to piss people off, then maybe you should be scared of people with opposing viewpoints.

It would be nice to hear different view points if they could be phrased in a sensible manner not just mindless rantings and name calling -most of us left the playgrounds some time
ago but some just never do reach a level of intelligent debate.

Actually, twattle,I gave you white guilt reverse discriminators more credit than that. I thought the term "banana republic" would conjure the racist vision in your minds based on its definition alone.

But if you're not interested, why bother to comment? Here's an idea: you don't like the subject, or you think it's beneath you, IGNORE it.

Please. The streets of Erie will be pothole free before g-farce has an original, erudite, composed thought. He'll never leave the security of his mental playground and venture into the big bad world where *gasp* there are people that differ from and disagree with, him.
