What a doofus candidate! And if obama prevails, and helps the down-ticket, we will wind up with legislators like this. Lord help us.

If the Democrats in the 49th Senatorial District go to the polls and just pull the straight party ticket, then Ms. Purvis wins and the residents of the district LOSE!
Senator Earll has worked with all of the members of the Senate in a very bi-partisan manner and is to be commended on always voting in the way that most benefits her constituents, ALL OF THEM!

I agree and I normally don't side with Republicans. She got my vote even though she voted against smoking ban

There will be some amusing consequences to an obama victory on the down-ticket. She could be one of them.

Purvis quote
"I am very much in favor of unions," she said. "I feel unions have been responsible for the rise of the middle class in the last century," she said."

This is the main reason she will not get my vote.
Unions were great when they started standing up for working conditions and safety but now they are too greedy. because of their greed They have made American products a lot more expensive and forced companies to ship jobs oversea because of lower labor cost. The American Taxpayer pay higher taxes commendation their members

Purvis is a one-note song on health care (a "right" provided that somebody else pays for it). Her answer about the smoking ban demonstrates her complete ignorance on the meaning of private property.
Please, please don't vote straight D and stick us with this!
