The Assessment Office is juicing the taxpayers big-time. Assessment is conspiring with elected officials to raise property taxes by posting increased values on real estate. I know that Erie Area was not hit hard like other urban areas in housing devaluation but there is no way mine has jumped over $50,000 that quick. We will definitely appeal. The Conty notice said only that it would increase our COUNTY tax, like we don't know the other 2 sons of bitches: the School District and municipality (Millcreek in our case) will also use the increased values to add to their coffers. F-----UCKING UNBELIEVABLE balls they have in this economy. Vote out all the bastards.
Tell me again about how wonderful the county government change to home rule was. Been picking the pockets of county residents for the city benefit ever since. The first reassessment came after city and city school district demands, followed by the city school district going after the full 10%, and after setting and exceeding the 10% rule, were forced into reducing the assessment off 100% because they over reached. Of course no reporting on that by the ETN this time around, nor interviews with the various municipalities or school districts. Certainly would be pertinent, especially in light of the city school district's latest fiscal shell game to raise money with their buildings, with, naturally, county government concurrence.
Ron White was right. You can't fix stupid. But, you don't have to elect it either!

Had the minimum wage kept pace with the rising cost of living since the 1970s, it would currently stand around $10 an hour.

Barry WHO??? The County Exec who holds Bill Garvey as his Hero??

I thought he moved back to his Fairview compound after his temporary sham rental residence in the City a few years back when he was trying to be Mayor.

The equation is we sell dope to whitey and live like rock stars. All the white merchants love us. The car dealers, the jewelers, the clothiers take our money and couldn't ge happier. We let whitey fret over taxes while working for the corporate slave masters. Low lifes? We're freer than you'll ever be.
