Yeah, that's the way to convince GE to keep jobs here--don't go to work; that'll teach them!

Union members at G.E. purposely slowing down production. What's so shocking about that ? It's business as usual for those folks.

Their Union will screw it up further. I don't want any of you GE workers applying at the County. We don't want you. So get lost, BUT before you go please vote for your County Executive.

The company has been telling us to slow down and not build. When we do any work the company stops ordering parts, so we end up pushing a broom. Contrary to popular belief we would rather be working... It is only the "purple kool-aid" drinking right winger want-to-bes who believe we sit around and play cards all night... If G.E. leaves it only hurts Erie county.

The stories have been too numerous for decades to believe you. I have friends who would brag about what they would get away with and the plans they would devise to get away with even more. Knowing they would always be "protected" only emboldened them further. The supposed day of "oh we're sick and won't show for work " illustrates the point beyond words and surely will convince management how serious you folks are about your dedication.

C'mon really??? Know one thinks you sit around playing cards all day. What we do know is you do 4hrs worth if work in an 8 hour time frame. We all have heard you Bragg about it. We all have also heard how when a new guy comes in and out performs, he's told to slow down. Unions were formed to protect worker rights, not entitle a person to be lazy. Employers used to take advantage of the worker, now the worker takes advantage of the employer. Well it is only a matter of time that the employer will go elsewhere. Good job GE scum workers.

There is no working with management. It is all about greed. You people have no idea what life is like at G.E.. The laziest people at G.E. are the new employees because of "no work and all pay". Let's farm-out more work for less money and poor quality. As far as "Loco Flu" it tells the management we are will to make the sacrifice to tell the management we will not roll over. Management is the cause of sourcing issues, not the workers.

All anyone has to do is read that sentence and they will see just how smart the average union worker is. Great idea, have everyone call in sick to stick it to the man! That wouldn't just enforce the stereotype of dumb lazy union workers! But you will show them when everyone shows their willingness not to work to show them you will not roll over.

You may not roll over but I am sure management will roll over you as the last moving truck pulls out of the plant and they pad lock the gates.

Then why subject yourself to such horrible bosses and conditions ?
If you have no other options and are not flexible enough with your skills then who is at fault for that ? Surely you must know that every business is in business to make as much money as it can. Here's a shocker......making as much profit as possible even trumps concern about the employees.! As if non-union people need to be schooled on this.
Look at it this way, if you owned a business the bottom line would be your number one objective too,no matter how righteous you may claim to be. If workers don't like the arrangement they have the right and freedom to take their talents and their chances elsewhere. They can also utilize the old standard strike tactics and refuse to work demonstrating to owners and managers just where they stand. This ploy works in favor of the worker when the worker believes the business won't or can't pick up and move. This emboldens workers to believe they have the business over a barrel. In the Erie G.E. situation it's the workers over the barrel this time and it looks like many are in for a serious dunking.
You believe the "Loco Flu" will tell management you are willing to make the sacrafice and won't roll over. That's what you said. Good plan ! Stick to the old play book and fortify one another over a cold one. Here's a news flash......employing that type of strategy in your situation will surely drive another nail in the coffin and solidify top management's decision that taking business out of Erie is indeed a wise move.

Ouch !! Cut it out will ya, you hurt my feelings when you and your friends don't like me and call me names.
Much to your hateful dismay, life is great for me. Nothing to be bitter about. Just got back from a nice vacation, spring is here and looking forward to more golf this season. Hope you and your friends have a wonderful summer.

For all the talk about lazy workers the Erie plant was one of the few divisions of GE that made good money in ruff times these last few years, so why move? Because they can make even more! Thats the real issue here, before we kiss the feet of corporate management,(as suggested) because we are over paid, lets remember they may make 10 times more than us, but certainly not work 10 times harder. So lets start their with cuts to boost the bottom line, because without that union smuck nothing goes out the back door!!
