Anyone who didn't know this was coming is a fool. GE moves Transportation's Corporate Offices to Chicago. Ge builds a locomotive plant in Texas. Gee, do you think GE plans on staying in Erie? You'll be lucky if a rebuild shop remains.
Who is responsible? Well there's enough blame to go around, but what can be done? Congress (both parties) are in GE's pocket. Obama is in GE's pocket. If Romney had won, he'd be in GE's pocket. You think the state and federal government care about you? Think again.
We need to take matters into our own hands. No one listens when I speak about buying American-made products. If it isn't made in America, then you can live without it. Shipping jobs overseas started this mess back in the late 70s. It's gotten worse and worse over the decades.
Vote out all incumbents each and every time they don't listen to us. If Obama and the Democrats had substantially increased import tariffs, I'd be kissing their feet. But no, they're riling up people with non-issues like gun control and gay marriage to distract you from real issues like what's happened and continues to happen to in places like our beloved Erie.

Listen, its very important to us that we are allowed to become married. I'd rather have Mr. Simonelli as my permanent, legal husband than any job. Thank you so much.

General Electric says its Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt received compensation for 2012 that was 80 percent more than his pay in 2011.
The company, which makes products ranging from light bulbs to jet engines, gave Immelt a pay package valued at nearly $20.6 million, according to an Associated Press analysis of regulatory documents filed Monday. That compares with $11.4 million in 2011.

Before Int'l Paper left Erie it made the union workers take a big pay cut and pay for their health care. When employees picketed and asked for support from GE workers they got turned down. It doesn't feel too good - does it.
Hey dude, he happens to be my Jobs Czar. He is worth every penny. Can you people imagine if the republicans would have pulled this sh!t. Be sure and watch MSNBC and see me and GE defended.

Check that, Pedro - GE is doing 20% better. You, on the other hand, are doing 20% less personally versus Erie. Glad you aren't in charge of my wealth management. Christ!!

Seems I remember Barry Grossman relaying back to the people of Erie on the news of a new Texas plant that he personally had a heart felt conversation with Simonelli that "Looked me in the eye" and said the we are committed to stay here in Erie and that Barry was convinced he told the truth. Didn't the same Barry also deny making an insulting remark about the town of Corry when he because they didnt want his community college

You know he does not make close to 100 million a year right? Also do you understand the difference between the GE CEO who is Jeffery Immelt and the GE Tran CEO who is Lorenzo Simonelli? If this is the intelligence level in Lawrence Park I understand why they are moving.

Love to see where you see them making 100 million...you guys are comical.

Someone needs to put out a contract for a hit on Immelt and Simonelli. Maybe some of the old Erie mafia boys would do the job to save the ifty.

Hate to hear so many layoffs, but after reading some of the hate for the Texas plant can't say I blame them. We might make a lower wage but with the cheap health care, Lower cost of living and thousands in personal equipment I ain't complaining. Not to mention the tuition reimbursement and countless other benefits including 8 weeks of college courses we got when hired. Shoot We all got tickets to NASCAR for our families. Say what you want about our nonunion plant but we as a group of outspoken hard working texans/and a hand full of mexicans will get more done together then any union officials at zero cost to ourselves. Hows that for wealth management.
