Ah, the Bush administration, led by the dumbest, most incompetent imbicile that could ever assume a public office. What has "W" brought US, division, alienation in the world, deficits of over 11.3 Trillion dollars and climbing, two wars he couldn't finish or even stabalize and now he wants his Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, former CEO of Goldman Sachs, one of the chief architects and beneficiaries of the sub-prime fiasco, to "bail out Goldmans Sach, Morgan Stanley and all the other financial institutions with over a Trillion of our tax dollars. Paulson arrogantly wrote a plan that would allow him sole decision making power with NO review by any government entity, not Congress, not anyone, and exempting his decisions from all judicial examination! Amazing a dictator with an Emperial presidency. Paulson was the genius that sent $12 Billion to Iraq, in bundles of $100 bills wrapped in plastic wrap and gave them away to anyone who pulled up with a Pickup, with not accountability, no receipts, no nothing. Then his person responsible for accounting for the money, a 3 Star Admiral said to Congress, "it doesn't matter who got the money it went to a good cause". When are the American people going to wake up to the theft of our treasury and everything else in the USA by "W", Cheney, and their friends, truly amazing. Remember Cheney's secret energy conference with the Oil CEO's and Oil Lobbyists? You are reaping the rewards of those 42 meetings held in secret.

I don't understand these continual statements that it is harder to get gas to Asheville. Last time I checked, there are two interstates which come into Asheville, along with several US Highways. It is not like Asheville is in a third world country with no roads.
Another Madison girl here. I agree. I don't get where that comes into play. How do you think they get gas to the TN line? Up the same mountains and past Asheville, past my exit in Madison county, across the state line and yet it's ALWAYS cheaper there - doesn't seem logical.

Interesting statement in the article, "...Carol Gifford, a spokeswoman for AAA Carolinas, said this morning that Asheville is not alone in experiencing a short supply, although it is probably more acute here because delivery to the mountains is more difficult..." Why it is more difficult? Do they have to bring it in on the backs of Llamas? We have roads here? They keep saying it is more difficult to deliver here; however, I don't see anyone stating why it is more difficult? AC-T should be asking those questions rather than telling us what we are already aware of. The publication isn't worth the paper it is printed on ...

gas will be here when the leaf season starts. It's all planned out. Lure the tourist here and then lay the shaft to them. I'm ashamed to say I live in asheville. no excuse for this happening. It's one big
ripoff.

Why did this person try to shamelessly cut in line at the Citgo on Merrimon today and rile everyone up? Why ask for so much trouble? Are people looking for more drama in their lives?
oh well.

Anyway, if this shortage does not let up in a week, the bad publicity alone will kill off Leaf Season tourism dollars, even if the shortgages are over by then.

Humping gas to Asheville on the back o Llamas? Oh man,'Tired', thanks for the good laugh.

Where is the government leadership throughout this crisis? Why can't we get some answers from the Mayor or our state elected representatives? I would like for someone to give us some concrete information and to tell us what to expect in the coming days. City transit could double bus schedules. There could be an emergency mandate to require a 10 gallon limit at the pump. We need some solutions, not vague assurances.

The complete lack of good reporting on this issue is just awful. Why isn't the ACT telling us what's happening in neighboring states? When is the situation expected to improve? And there's much more to the situation than just "it's more difficult to get gas to the mountains." That's pathetic journalism.

Have to admire a person that gets their point across with just a couple of words, agree or not with the opinion, point made and few keystrokes.
I can't say I agree with ya always Keith, but we ain't supposed to, but you can bring a smile to me when I need it, still need to get those that don't vote that are able to to register, and do the write in for president, which is legal and someone would win by a landslide. Hope those reading this will register, and vote, I think in NC it is 25 days before the election.
Agree or disagree with anyone here just vote if you are able to, I would rather see who I vote for lose than see sooooo many that don't vote not do so, if everyone voted then we would see a true picture of how people feel. If you're here

I am voting for McCain. If he is the Man of the Hour and does not live up to my expectations, I will debate on hanging my head or not. If he is not and Obama is and doesn't live up to the expectations of his peeps, I will not have to debate on the head hanging. I'll be standing tall, looking good, should be in Hollywood. LOL. Place to place my vote will be at Charles C. Bell Elementry School in Oteen. I will be there for McCain.
