Aren't we all Americans each generation in my family has faght or died in every war this country has had .For me I have witnessed first hand the unwelcoming of a small town well a few city officials.wow is this the same country I seen so many brothers die for to come back and not be welcomed.there is the ten comnandments posted outside of town.a town that will not entrtain growth, they forced a man out of business ny not granting permits for Rvs For his workers as his co.grew ,not very godly but the Lord asks us to forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.may gods glory rain on this country and unite US to prosperity amen!

I grew up in Alexander and have many fond memories of our little town

After reading these blogs, Iím proud to say that I graduated from Alexander High School where the teachers taught us how to use correct grammar and how to communicate with other people.

Obviously many of you that wrote the preceding comments about Alexander did not have this privilege. I donít think Iíve every read such ungrammatical garbage.

I agree that there are many adverse things you can say about a little town like Alexander. But if youíre going to criticize our town, at least take the time to try to compose a complete sentence that makes some sense.

Alexander sucks! The locals will take your money, then clock you in the head with a piss jug. If you wake up you will find yourself being sodomized by at least a half-dozen toothless, fat, smelly locals in overalls and then they will throw you in the town sewage lagoon. Don't be surprised if one of them plays a banjo during your ordeal. Later, you will find out that Alexander, ND gave you herpes in your ass.

DON'T go there. Don't even stop there!

I promise that if you reelect me I will get rid of the 3 "pedafiles" and the 2 meth heads. I will bring new business to the town, i.e. more bars. Soon we will have more bars than we have pedafiles and meth heads combined!! Alexander will once again be the beautiful city it once was.

Population 217? Wow another of those 'ghost towns' in ND!!!!

uhhhmmmm... hardly a ghost town, it is a town smack in the middle of the Bakken Oil boom. Yes, it is small, but doubt it has only 217 people at the moment. There is probably more activity and more money moving around that little town than in London, KY. The traffic that moves through that little town on it's way up to Williston is unbelievable.

I am from Alexander originally! First off what town doesn't have a drug issue right now? It is out there everywhere but at least in a small town you know who to be around and who not to be around. One plus in a small town. Granted I will say that once again it is a small town. i lived in other small towns and they are all the same. There is gossip and rumors and chances are everyone will know your business even long before you do anything. But they are also there to help when you need it and be support when it is necessary! If you don't like small town life you probably shouldn't live there and yes if you are an outsider coming in like all small towns people will probably look at you a little strange until they get to know you! You have to do your part to fit in and be accepted but that is everywhere! Not just Alexander it also occurs in big towns but in big cities it is much harder to get to know people because NO ONE and I mean NO ONE trusts anyone else! SO if you don't like it fine don't live there but don't go around bad mouthing one town when it is every small town in AMERICA!

Alexander, misterious, creepy , and fearfull. most of you people whom have commented on this blog have probably lived here all of your lives or have moved here because you got a call one sday and they asked you to work for the oil feild or you came here with your freind thinking that you will get that same question or phone call that your freind got .but alexander has two bars the one that ib would recommend is the hi way lounge they re freindly and have good boos and food music too but some people have an ich for the beetles of tim migraw but their are some un pleasent people that will kck you to the curb with all your money and visa card and bash your head in and leave you for the buzzards

What I think is funny, is some loser decides to post this 7 years ago because he/she had an issue with someone. 7 years later, this loser who posted this has moved on as have the people this loser was posting about. Alexander has since joined the rest of western ND with the oil boom, where most of the people in Alexander are not even from Alexander anymore. So am curious why people are still responding to the original "losers" post? Nothing wrong with Alexander, it was the "loser" who had an issue, and more than likely brought it on him/herself.

And why are you responding to the responders who responded to the loser seven years ago? lol
Alexander is just like any other small town in the middle of the oil patch. It's overpriced, dirty and somewhat stuck-up against outsiders. Some of the outsiders aren't half-bad but us little town folks chase them off too, for fear they might actually be from somewhere else with some weird idea to take over the town with their 2.5 kids and Irish Setter. Geez people, they aren't that much different.

This town is too small and completely unprepared for the large influx of people. Someone said this place was friendly? yeah...maybe to it's own natives but very much inhospitable to the new arrivals.

I was in Alexander around '13. It was pleasant and people were friendly. Found a good belt on the side of the road while I was stopped for construction that I still wear. Left the pants that were with it on the side of the road.

The best thing is that spring downtown at the corner of the park where you can drink actual spring water, not something from a munincipal chemical water system. Only problem with that was it was free, so they lowered the pipe so those big jugs wouldn't fit under it, so you had to buy your water at the refill place. Not good at all. Other than that, cool place.
