I had the pleasure of eating here on the opening night. Wow...the food was fantastic. I was really impressed. They were all very nice and food was simple incredible. I'm so excited to have an "authentic" Italian restaurant in the area. I am so tired of the chain places.

This is the first time I've ever felt compelled enough to write a bad review in the hope of saving someone the time and money! There is nothing authentic about this place. Their signature dish, the Godfather - a trio of classical pastas, features ice cold obviously reheated lasagna, a pasty floury Alfredo goop, and over breaded chicken parmesan.... and that was just my companions' meal. I was offered the Italian classic Caprese... except with NO Italian spices (mainly basil) unlike the menu and any Italian food enjoyer knows it should be served. I was excited to see they offered Italian Wedding Soup, but was just as disappointed to discover it strayed in the bowl greatly from the menu's description. It was simply canned chicken noodle soup with meatballs floating inside! Horrible! And the service was just as appaulling... our server obviously had a cold - constantly hacking and coughing into his hand. And when we asked for a manager, one never arrived! In all honesty Fazoli's make a more valiant attempt at AUTHENTIC Italian than Little Italy ever will. I will NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone!

My family had dinner here last night and was very pleased with everything. The restaurant is lovely and our server was very friendly. The food was delicious! The salad and bread is great. The bruchetta was very flavorful. I had the chicken Florentine which was fantastic. My husband loved the Linguine and clams. My children loved thier alfredo sauce and thier calzones. They ceretainly live up to thier name "taste of the hill". Finally some authentic Italian food in Illinois, we no longer have to drive any further.

My wife, daughter, and I visited this restaurant this evening for my daughter's birthday. We were very underwhelmed. The server was very attentive, polite, and very good overall. However, the flood was bland.

When I visit a restaurant for the first time, I order a simple meal. I figure if they do simple well, then I'll come back for more complex meals later. If they can't do simple well, I won't bother coming back.

We all ordered spaghetti, which also came with salad and bread. The contents of the salad was very good, but the house dressing tasted like a basic Italian dressing. The bread was just a flavorless small loaf of bread. While the presentation of the spaghetti was very good, the taste was bland at best. None of us finished it.

I was very excited to try this restaurant, but I have no plans to return.

WONDERFUL! Our party of 8 was served a variety of appetizers and entrees. Everyone loved the food and service. We love Italian food and found this to be very flavorful and well presented. We are already making plans to return.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant to everyone.

Misty,
Does your restaurant have a phone number? Information doesn't have it and it is no where to be found on the internet, and you apparently don't have a website (kind of odd for a business these days).

Took a family of four there tonight. The food was okay to pretty good, but it was a bit pricey. Nearly $80 (before the tip), and we didn't have any alcohol, but we did have two appetizers.

To my knowledge , we should be listed with information. Topix (this chat) will not allow me to post the phone number. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will call the phone company and check on that. Our website is being finalized and should be available by the end of the week. Your right, everyone has web sites these days. We are looking forward to having ours, please check back at the end of the week.

Okay....this place is great! Folks talk about price point of Little Italy, however I find that prices aren't stopping people from eating out. If it's good food, we pay for it and I believe that my experience at Little Italy was perfect food and the price matched the expectation of the food.

The staff was more than friendly and extremely attentive to my needs. We spent a majority of our time talking to the Manager, Linda, and was so impressed that we'd go back just to talk to her! Little Italy serves a wonderful Lasagna and their Meatballs were graced with perfect seasonings. In most "American-Italian" food I find them to be heavily covered with too many cheeses and/or Italian Seasonings. I found the food at Little Italy to be the perfect blend of seasonings.

This restaurant is new and folks should give them a break. They were brave enough to open a family owned and operated busines in this economy and they are giving people jobs. Help them out by supporting them. They seem more than willing to work out the kinks or help folks if something was wrong. I loved it and will definitely go back!

My family, while traveling through the area, stopped at Little Italy after checking to our hotel. The food was great and we really enjoyed it.

Misty, I truly appreciate your gracious offer. It shows that you are sincere about customer service and care about your business. My review is obviously in the minority here, so maybe I simply visited at the wrong time.

I'll give you guys some time to get established and then I'll try it again. I'd love nothing more than to be able to write a positive, second review.

I love Italian food but I guess I'm pretty picky. For example I find the Pasta House in North County to have excellent Spaghetti Bolognese, but I find the same item at the Fairview Heights location to be too acidic for my taste. I also don't care for Olive Garden. Yet I absolutely love the spaghetti at P'sghetti's in South County.

I hope my review did not offend anyone at Little Italy. I attempted to describe my experience, but I certainly did not mean to disrespect anyone.

I would have to agree with Andy's review. The food tastes as if it was delivered frozen and reheated. The service was terrible. I had to wait in front for 5 minutes while the hostesses tried to figure out what section to put our table. I waited on my drink from the bar forever while I watched my waitress text on her phone. I would recommend that the owners either start from scratch or close this restaurant before they lose anymore money in this hole.

The prices were too high. You can hear the bar (was full of old guys hollering when we were there) b/c they opened up the walls. No waitress came for 10 minutes and they were not busy. We left. If we want itallian food we'll gladly drive to the hill.

I've heard more complaints since last time I tried to go there. Everyone I talk to about it had either bad food, long waits or both.

Tom - You said you would give them time to get established. If anything the quality (if there was any to start) has gone down.
