Stockton boy riding in luggage area dies in rollover crash

Police said a seven-year-old Stockton boy riding in the rear luggage compartment of a Ford Explorer was killed when the SUV went out of control on a San Leandro freeway.

I remember as a child riding in the back of station wagons and pick-up trucks. Bouncing in the seats as my parents drove down the road at 70 MPH.

We were stupid to do it then, and people who do it, or let their children do it are stupid today. People don't learn.
