"Quite a few people know what happened to Eric that night," she said. "They need to break this no-snitching law." Who is enforcing the "no snitching" law? Seems to me if these were decent people, they would help a Mother in distress. Losing a son to this sort of random violence is horrific.

The community is in the process of killing themselves and they won't give up the shooters because of this stupid "no snitching" thing. As long as you protect the shooters, you are saying its ok to kill each other off. You have no one to blame but yourselves for the havoc they bring to your doorstep!

"We have a crisis in our neighborhoods," Carter said, where young black men don't expect to grow old. And who's fault is that? Everyone else's but the people in that neighborhood, right?

Andy, I want you to clean your room. I want it done today. Stop playing with the computer and get to work. I also want the lawn mowed before your dad gets home.

The "no snitching" rule is part of their culture that we have to respect and embrace, why aren't we showing more tolerance here?

This article highlights so much of what's wrong with inner-city black culture. It seems like everything is OK and permissible--except, of course, helping the police find someone who killed a young man. Unfortunately, the same people who are now calling for someone to come forward would probably not come forward themselves if it was someone else's son who was killed instead of their own. It's all very sad and pointless. This is where the entire "stop snitching" mentality has brought us.

Instead of everyone here critisizing the "obvious" problems with society today, how about exuding some COMPASSION for the woman that lost her child? Granted he was a grown adult, but HE WAS STILL HER CHILD. How would you feel? To add further insult to injury, HIS CHILDREN NO LONGER HAVE A FATHER. Can you even imagine that? If you can, then you have no right to spit one profanity. You would have a part of you missing too. Don't go pointing that judgemental finger and getting on your soapbox before you consider OTHER FACTS.

Compassion, feelings, understanding and inclusion have gotten us into the mess the Twin Cities are experiencing. We need a cleansing ~ a hard, strict and tough one.

Don't go pointing that judgemental finger and getting on your soapbox before you consider OTHER FACTS. Hey, Drama Queen...I don't think anyone here doesn't feel bad for mom. But that doesn't change the fact that the main point of this article dealt with the fact that, two years later, nobody has been charged with a crime and nobody has come forward. We are of course going to speak about the problems with a culture where the supreme law seems to be not talking to or helping the police. Take your melodrama and whining elsewhere if you can't handle the rigors of this forum, where (gasp!) you might actually read views that differ from yours.

Maybe You Should Learn How To Punctuate And Capitalize And Maybe Somewhere Along The Way You Will Figure Out That The True Base Of The Problem Is The Gangs Themselves And This Stop Snitching Crap That Is Killing All Of You If There Were Not Gangs There Would Be No Reason For A Strike Force PS. Before everybody doesn't get it, the errors above are not intentional

hey "ladies first" pretty quick to blame the police and the god squad, how about looking in your own backyard and neighborhood? Way to blame everyone else but your own "community" you all know who pulled the trigger...what a bunch of cowards hiding behind the "no snitchin' rule". You are all to blame.
