I've had family who worked at Walmart. It's not the best job in the world, but there are worse. Because of my ties, I am sympathetic with the employees.

That said, why is it Walmart's job to fix the economy with their no-education required, bottom-rung positions. The economy sucks and Americans haven't been able to support a family with one paycheck for decades. How is it Walmart's job to single-handledly change all that?

I sincerely hope you write your Congressmen and President with the same furvor you post with. And if you voted to put the same men and women back into office - you know, the ones who helped create and sustain this economic mess -- shame on you. Stop bellyaching, cure your liberal disease, and get a clue, and try something different for a change.

"If you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting."

Hint: It's not Walmart's fault.

Speaking of shills, itzatwist has made nearly identical posts just about anywhere on Topix that there is a thread about the Wal-Mart walkout. A Google search shows Barboursville KY http://www.topix.com/forum/city/barbourville-...
Alamogordo NM http://www.topix.com/forum/city/alamogordo-nm...
Bellflower CA http://www.topix.com/forum/city/bellflower-ca...
Hayward CA http://www.topix.com/forum/city/hayward-ca/TD...
Wal-Mart Stores forum http://www.topix.com/forum/com/wmt/TD42B3KU4G...
And before joining Topix on Friday (according to her profile), her non-member posts show an ISP in McMinnville, OR. My ISP shows as Amherst, VA, but my location is in the Bridgeport WV area.
It's hard to believe that someone who can spell and punctuate has failed to get a Wal-Mart job in several tries. What's the hourly pay for a sock puppet?
This sort of deception is why we should care about the truth.

That's a cruel personal attack. i am NOT a shill, i just feel very strongly about this particular issue. Working conditions are shameful these days & everyone i kno is suffering. i hate the fact that it's an employers market right now due to the terrible economic conditions. It's not good or even ok, it just is. i was merely expressing the fact that there are far worse places to work with much less pay ... a LOT of them. Yet walmart is being singled out & attacked because it's such a huge target.
Do i wish conditions were better? YES! However, since i lost my job (the place had to shut down) i have come to realize the value of even having a job these days.

Can we not have a discussion without personal attacks. You have no idea what anyone who takes the time to express their opinions on this (or any other subject) is truly going thru.

For those who would try to argue that the US needs to follow the lead of other countries health care solutions...

"A BID to save nearly £3billion by slashing appointments with a doctor and treating patients via computer will put lives at risk, ministers were warned.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt is planning a technological revolution that could spell the end of the traditional doctor’s surgery.
A new system of “virtual clinics” is being planned in which GPs connect with patients via iPads and Skype, an idea that NHS bosses are importing from India."

Point 4:
"You can name names like "Right Wing" Tea Party Republicans and "Right Wing" Democrats. Apparently, there is NO SUCH THING as a LIBERAL OR LEFT WING. Very telling on your part."
Finally, let's use your last quote to address why America has every single problem it currently faces. I stated that America's political leadership is comprised of right wing Democrats and further right wing Republicans because America leans right SEVERELY. We do not have but one or two liberal representatives nationwide: Bernie Saunders and Elizabeth Warren are it. When polled, the majority of Americans have negative feelings towards the word "liberal" and positive feelings for the word "conservative." This is not surprising since half the nation is comprised of religious church going nutballs who are paranoid about everything and usually vote against their best interests as a result. Again, Obama and Congress passed a healthcare bill CREATED BY CONSERVATIVES THAT DO NOT WANT A ONE-PAYER SYSTEM. Obama doesn't want to raise the tax rates on the wealthy like he should, he only wants to let the Bush tax cuts expire and he's willing to give in on Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security (which isn't even part of the national debt) to do it. We are a nation of rightwing Fox "News" idiots. I wish more than anything there was a balance of power between liberals and conservatives, but there is not -- it is a nation of conservatives and those who are to the right of those conservatives. Things in this country will never get better until the nation moves drastically to the left. Anyway, I've said my piece.
If this country is so right wing, why do we have a socialist moron in the White House?

You may want to change "there" to "their" in this sentence too. But continue on defending your English skills, I won't interrupt again:
