Why are the deputies directing traffic for the new church near Muriales? I heard someone mention they thought the Sheriff went there. Still weird to direct traffic for a church. What a waste of resources.

Paying these incompetent liars in the Sheriff's Department is a waste of resources.

The deputies are directing traffic for church to prevent accidents. The are being paid via the church for this service, as you could hire them for event traffic also. This is a very good service with the traffic and was needed.

For safety purposes? It's more like they're paying to get the right-of-way unfettered so they don't have to wait for oncoming traffic along Route 250. When South Ridge held services at the Senior Center, they purposely blocked all incoming and outgoing traffic from the neighborhood until each and every church member left the parking lot. They're a bunch of self-righteous arrogant hypocrites.

Same thing Trinity does/did. Maybe you should go to one of those churches.

I think you misunderstood what the cop hollered. He was probably yelling: "If you don't give these South Ridge cars the right of way, it's going to be YOUR funeral!"

I wouldn't worry too much about what the morons in the MCSD say. Most of it is lies anyway.

Not sure, but Cornholio seems to know what he is talking about here. He states that the MCSO is being paid for this service. Although I do not know for sure, that was the first idea that popped into my head. People or organizations can and do pay for services such as this in the name of safety.

Oh...and to respond to this one, "They're a bunch of self-righteous arrogant hypocrites." What is the definition of a hypocrite? Is it someone who directs or blocks traffic for a short period of time? Or do you call ANYONE who goes to church a hypocrite?

Personally, I am not perfect by far. And I go to church. I don't go to church because I am perfect. I go to church because I am not!

Wait! Are you saying the deputies stopped a funeral procession in order to let the South Ridge members out first? That's outrageous! Those church people are unbelievable!

For your information (not that it's anyone business), but the police escort program provided by the county is only temporary until the city installs a new traffic light at the intersection leading to South Ridge. The automated traffic light will be on a timer, much like some schools use to control traffic for buses, and will only stop vehicles on 250 at specific times on Sunday mornings. If being stopped by the new light offends anyone, I would encourage you to become familiar with the hours of the worship services and take alternative routes.

The bottom line is more people appreciate our local police than do not.. it's obvious since there are only a few little anonymous comments on an ignorant website that nobody cares about. In this world NOBODY can just be happy unless they are bitching. If there wasn't police there someone would bitch its dangerous or someone wrecked. If there was a light someone would bitch cause they have to stop now. This would is full of bitches. Nuff said.
