I want to thank the Fairmont Police Department for all they do. Police Officers usually don't get thanked much since often you contact when things are going so well. They're our local defense and are willing to do a job for next to nothing to keep us as safe as possible. Fairmont has changed tremendously since I was a kid. This has become a rough city for emergency crews. Again, thank you Fairmont Police for your dedication to our community,
Don

They do a good job and have to deal with a lot. I only ever had a problem with one officer when I lived in Fairmont and that was years ago and he got fired for being a jerk and for stalking women/a woman or something like that. The problem, and I doubt I was the only one, left me not suprised that he got fired.

I know that they have a tough job and it probably can cause them to not believe people, to prejudge or to be overly agressive but again that all being said I only had that with the one guy and even the policeman that was with him was embarassed and kind of uncomfortable with his actions. When I called and complained the next day I was told by the dispatcher that one of their fellow officers had passed away the previous day and that he was probably just in a bad mood.

Seems the bad apples do get weeded out. Keep up the great work guys. Stay safe.

This is actually one of the best departments I have looked in to. The thing about Police is most people who appreciate them don't voice out. Usually you hear all about the experience that didn't go the way they expected. It's a control thing in this day in age. It's everywhere you go and in every profession. It's natural to not what to feel out of control or over thrown by authority. I have been stopped on purpose in Fairmont several times. And each officer I have dealt with was different. Some stern and some very friendly. The only time things didn't go well is when I was rude. I got a ticket and I paid it. I also tried to complain and the supervisor was very understanding and listened to me. He assured me it would be taken care of. Trust me the Fairmont Police Dept. is not the department with major issues around WV.

Thank you Fairmont Police Dept. for giving me the perception you are keeping my safe. I think I'll stick to believing God for protection and practicing with my firearms. I have seen all these guys sitting at one place before and bother people walking home cause they came out of a bar. What ever happen to having a good time and walking home instead of driving home. Now you can't even walk home without someone poking around at you. Thanks Fairmont Fire Dept. also. My house burnt down a few years ago. Why didn't you save my house. I need to become a police man.. wait I already hate my life why make it worse.

Thank God for the Fairmont Police Department. At least the county seat is a safe place. I sent my fat ass detective Chip Phillips out the other day to check out some criminal acitivty in Mannington and when he tried to get out of his car he shit himself. If it wasnt for guys like Doug Yost, Aaron Dalton, Matt Lewis and Eric Hudson we'd really be screwed.
